ELIGIBILTY & GENERAL NOTES

Eligiblity:

Players under the age of 19 as of August 1, 2017 will be eligible for the National Junior Boys Order of Merit.

1)
General Notes:
1)

A maximum of eight (8) tournaments from the period from September 1, 2016 to August 31, 2017 will count for points on the National Junior Boys Order of Merit.

2) A player may play in more than eight (8) events on the tournament listing but only the best eight (8) events will count for points.

3) If two or more players tie for a position, other than first, points will be shared. For example, two players tieing for 2nd will share 2nd and 3rd place points.

4) If an event has a cut in the field to a number of players less than the number of places on the point grid, points will only be awarded to players in the final standings. Eg. Cut to low 40 & ties - then only those players earn points.

5) There is no longer a restriction on the number of CJGA and MJT events that count for points towards the National Junior Boys Order of Merit. Restrictions on the number of players in these events for points to count has also been removed.

6) There is no longer a restriction on the number of AJGA events that count for points towards the National Junior Boys Order of Merit. 7) New multi-tiered point grids have been created and will be used to award points based on the starting value of the event and the number of participants in the field. Points are now tied to field size and can now accommodate and adjust to changes in field size.

8) Sanctioned events and their relative weighting will be reviewed annually based on the number of participants and strength of field.

9) Qualifying points (eg. for USGA Events) will be awarded only to those players that earn a spot in the field through a regional qualifying event. Qualifying points will not be awarded to players who receive an exemption (of any kind) into a tournament.

10) The committee may add / delete events or edit the starting point values to the above tournament listing based on strength and depth of field that may come to their attention throughout the 2017 golf season.

11) If you notice any duplicate profiles, corrections or ommissions that need to be made to your OOM point total, please contact Golf Canada at 1.800.263.0009 x204 or [email protected]. Please note that the OOM ranking will be considered final two weeks after the August 31st, 2017 deadline for counting events. Any corrections (regardless of fault) will not be made after September 15th, 2017.

Te Western Amateur Championship Records & Statistics Guide 1899-2020 for te 119t Westrn Amatur, July 26-31, 2021 Glen View Club Golf, Il. 18t editon compiled by Tim Cronin A Guide to The Guide –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Welcome to the 119th Western Amateur Championship, and the 18th edition of The Western Amateur Records & Statistics Guide, as the championship returns to the Glen View Club for the first time since the 1899 inaugural. Since that first playing, the Western Amateur has provided some of the best competition in golf, amateur or professional. This record book allows reporters covering the Western Am the ability to easily compare current achievements to those of the past. It draws on research conducted by delving into old newspaper files, and by going through the Western Golf Association’s own Western Amateur files, which date to 1949. A few years ago, a major expansion of the Guide presented complete year-by-year records and a player register for 1899 through 1955, the pre-Sweet Sixteen era, for the first time. Details on some courses and field sizes from various years remain to be found, but no other amateur championship has such an in-depth resource. Remaining holes in the listings will continue to be filled in for future editions. The section on records has been revised, and begins on page 8. This includes overall records, including a summary on how the medalist fared, and more records covering the Sweet Sixteen years. The 209-page Guide is in two sections. Part 1 includes a year-by-year summary chart, records, a special chart detailing the 37 players who have played in the Sweet Sixteen in the 63 years since its adoption in 1956 and have won a professional major championship, and a comprehensive report on the Sweet Sixteen era through both year-by-year results and a player register.

    Second Edition

JANUARY 2015 CONSERVATION TM SPECIAL EDITION MattersSECOND EDITION TM about the GOABC he Guide Outfitters Association of British Columbia (GOABC) was established in 1966 to represent Tthe guide outfitting industry to government, and advocate for science-based wildlife management. The GOABC represents 60-70% of guide outfitters in the province, employs over 2,000 individuals, and is responsible for approximately $116 million of annual economic activity in British Columbia. The vision of the GOABC is a province with a strong and stable guide outfitting industry, innovative wildlife conservation projects led by hunters, and abundant big game populations for all to enjoy, both today and in the future. In an ever-changing conservation landscape, it is critical that organizations like the GOABC take the initiative to host events such as this wildlife symposium. In doing so, we can learn from other jurisdictions, and better understand the differing viewpoints people may have on wildlife management. From the many passionate and compelling speakers who presented at the 2014 GOABC International Wildlife Management Symposium, we were given much to reflect on and help us as we move forward toward our collective goal of healthy, stable wildlife populations. This publication is GOABC’s attempt to capture the spirit and intent of the event’s discussion. It is our opinion that hunters must shift their attitudes from caring about hunting, to caring about all wildlife. In order for us to be successful at maintaining wildlife for future generations, hunters need TM to support long-term management decisions that are good for wildlife and their habitat. The GOABC has always been a strong proponent of the North American Wildlife Conservation Model, which has proven to be an effective framework for managing wildlife that was founded by hunter-conservationists.
