Championship History 111-113 2016 NASL Media Guide 2016 NASL Media Guide About the NASL The North American Soccer League shattered league records in 2015 and is poised in 2016 for its most competitive year since launching its Modern Era in 2011. Entering its sixth season of play, three new clubs were admitted to the league for the 2016 season. Rayo OKC, backed by the local owner Sean Jones and the Spanish La Liga club Rayo Vallecano’s Raúl Martin Presa; and Miami FC, co- owned by the former star of Italy’s national team and AC Milan, Paolo Maldini and MP & Silva’s Riccardo Silva, joins the fray for the Spring Season. The New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony is the owner of Puerto Rico FC, which begins play in the Fall Season. The league has 12 clubs after the departure of the Atlanta Silverbacks and the San Antonio Scorpions. Neither team will participate in 2016.The three expansion sides join the Carolina RailHawks, FC Edmonton, Fort Lauderdale Strikers, Indy Eleven, Jacksonville Armada FC, Minnesota United FC, New York Cosmos, Ottawa Fury FC, and Tampa Bay Rowdies. In addition to some new, forward-thinking owners joining an already impressive roster, there is eye-opening star power on the touchline and on the field of play. Maldini’s longtime teammate with AC Milan and the Italian national team, Alessandro Nesta, heads Miami FC’s inaugural campaign from the bench. On the field, the Cosmos added the Venezuelan national team’s leader in goals and appearances, Juan Arango. Rayo OKC signed Derek Boateng, a veteran with Ghana’s national team, and the Fort Lauderdale Strikers acquired Matheus Carvalho, who played recently in France for AS Monaco and appeared for that club in the UEFA Champions League. New York (blue) and Carolina (orange) look to continue their intense match-ups in 2016. 2 2016 NASL Media Guide About the NASL The clubs will compete under the league’s split-season format, which consists of 10 games in the Spring Season (April-June) and 22 in the Fall Season (July-October). The winners of the Spring and Fall Seasons earn a place in The Championship, the league’s four-team postseason tournament. The two clubs with the next-best overall records receive the remaining postseason berths. The champion lifts the Soccer Bowl Trophy, the third-oldest professional outdoor soccer prize in the North America. With a victory in front of an NASL Modern Era attendance record for a postseason match – 10,166 – last November, the Cosmos lifted the Soccer Jacksonville Armada FC Bowl Trophy for an unprecedented celebrating with its home fans seventh time – across the league’s Golden and Modern Eras. New York was able to hold on for a 3-2 win, despite Ottawa Fury’s late surge. The NASL’s regular-season attendance record in the Modern Era was also broken. Jacksonville Armada FC’s inaugural home match, played at EverBank Field, was witnessed by 16,164 spectators. In addition to competing in league play, nine US-based clubs will play in the 103rd edition of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The NASL’s two Canadian teams – FC Edmonton and Ottawa Fury FC – will participate in the Amway Canadian Championship. Last year, the Eddies fell short of reaching the final for the first time in club history. In 2017, Puerto Rico FC will compete in the Caribbean Football Union Championship. The winner of each of

Nov 22 Houston's Danny Cruz could be an easy selection as the Impact tomorrow. (Getty Images) I?¡¥ve already given a sneer design based on my predictions of every MLS club?¡¥s protection lists and immediately that the real lists are out we can obtain a better sense of who could be actually taken tomorrow. Every crew released their protection lists yesterday evening ¡§C with a few surprises listed ¡§C Montreal ought come away with a virtuous begin to their expansion movement. I felt favor going team-by-team here to give you always some names that I see being taken tomorrow afternoon according Montreal. Given the names of players out there I think whether Montreal plays their cards right, they arrest as many quality defenders and midfielders among this blueprint as they maybe can. I?¡¥m sure trades longing be made left and right tomorrow but getting a strong base of players is what the Impact must concentrate on here. JANUARY 2015 CONSERVATION TM SPECIAL EDITION MattersSECOND EDITION TM about the GOABC he Guide Outfitters Association of British Columbia (GOABC) was established in 1966 to represent Tthe guide outfitting industry to government, and advocate for science-based wildlife management. The GOABC represents 60-70% of guide outfitters in the province, employs over 2,000 individuals, and is responsible for approximately $116 million of annual economic activity in British Columbia. The vision of the GOABC is a province with a strong and stable guide outfitting industry, innovative wildlife conservation projects led by hunters, and abundant big game populations for all to enjoy, both today and in the future. In an ever-changing conservation landscape, it is critical that organizations like the GOABC take the initiative to host events such as this wildlife symposium. In doing so, we can learn from other jurisdictions, and better understand the differing viewpoints people may have on wildlife management. From the many passionate and compelling speakers who presented at the 2014 GOABC International Wildlife Management Symposium, we were given much to reflect on and help us as we move forward toward our collective goal of healthy, stable wildlife populations. This publication is GOABC’s attempt to capture the spirit and intent of the event’s discussion. It is our opinion that hunters must shift their attitudes from caring about hunting, to caring about all wildlife. In order for us to be successful at maintaining wildlife for future generations, hunters need TM to support long-term management decisions that are good for wildlife and their habitat. The GOABC has always been a strong proponent of the North American Wildlife Conservation Model, which has proven to be an effective framework for managing wildlife that was founded by hunter-conservationists.
