Em 2019, a sexta edição dos Estudos de Egiptologia apresenta uma grande pluralidade temática de pesquisas que são feitas na América do Sul, sobretudo Brasil e Argentina. Podemos verificar nos anais da Semana de Egiptologia temas que vão do mortuário ao templário, passando pela vida cotidiana da sociedade egípcia antiga em vários momentos de sua longa história. A contribuição significativa dos membros do Laboratório de Egiptologia Seshat nesta edição reforça a importância do Museu Nacional no cenário da Egiptologia latino-americana e a relevância do mesmo para produção de conhecimento científico em nosso país. As demais contribuições de autores de diversas universidades do Brasil e Argentina são igualmente imprescindíveis para que os estudos acerca do antigo Egito sigam dialogando e em franca expansão em toda América Latina. Rio de Janeiro, dezembro de 2019 Os organizadores 4 OLHARES SOBRE O EGITO ANTIGO: O CASO DA DANÇA DO VENTRE E SUA PROFISSIONALIZAÇÃO Amana dos Santos Nesimi Doutoranda – PPGA/Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF) Resumo: Analisando a dança do ventre, no contexto brasileiro, o discurso da habilitação profissional enfatiza a noção de “origem egípcia da “dança do ventre”, identificando nas representações e eventos elementos que colaborem para a narrativa de uma “origem egípcia da dança”. Os profissionais dessa dança, na maioria das vezes, ao relacionarem o Egito à dança do ventre, referem-se ao Egito Antigo. Nesse sentido, esse artigo objetiva investigar os significados sociais proveniente dessa associação criadora de olhares sobre a dança, o Egito Antigo e o passado. Abstract: Analyzing belly dancing, in Brazilian context, we face a professional speech that localize an Egyptian origin. This fact is easily identified in many representations and events that collaborate with this narrative. In most of the cases, these professionals associated belly dancing not only about Egypt, however, an Ancient Egypt. Thus, this article proposes to investigate the meanings produced in this circumstances that create glances of the dance, about Ancient Egypt and the past. Introdução Inicialmente é necessário ressaltar que esse artigo integra as discussões levantadas na minha dissertação, intitulada “Dança do ventre sem ventre: aspectos de uma profissionalização”, defendida em 2017, no âmbito do mestrado em Antropologia, pela Universidade Federal Fluminense (NESIMI, 2017). Postulando a inexistência da neutralidade na linguagem, já que ela está inserida em contextos dinâmicos e, nesse sentido, carregada de significados e julgamentos, (BECKER, GOFFMAN, 2009) mantenho o termo “dança do ventre”, entre aspas, a fim de destacar que esse próprio termo está em disputa no campo e que revela um certo entendimento sobre a dança. Embora, não seja a intenção nesse artigo tratar especificamente dessas terminologias, é necessário ressaltar que existem profissionais da dança que rechaçam esse nome e preferem chamá-la de “dança oriental”. Como ponto de partida para o debate aqui pretendido, é importante destacar que há um grande distanciamento entre o que o Egito Antigo representa para a Egiptologia e as demais camadas sociais. A Egiptologia, enquanto área de conhecimento científico do século XIX, apreende os seus objetos de pesquisa com finalidade acadêmica. No entanto, isso não afasta a possibilidade de que determinados grupos sociais possam estar entendendo o Egito Antigo de maneira não científica, mas de forma afetiva ou comercial. É justamente essa segunda apreensão que nos interessa, ou seja, a abordagem não acadêmica sobre o Egito Antigo. 5 Antes mesmo de iniciar o trabalho de campo no mestrado, fui aluna de “dança do ventre” durante certo período. O que pude perceber, tanto na época em que fui estudante e, posteriormente, como pesquisadora, foram as referências que eram feitas ao Egito e, em particular, ao Egito Antigo. Essa associação foi uma das motivações para desenvolver a minha pesquisa, pois para o antropólogo não importa revelar a “origem” dos fenômenos sociais, tampouco estabelecer uma relação inquisitorial com os seus interlocutores a fim de confrontar o que eles dizem que é verdade e, o que de fato é ou não verdadeiro. Para o antropólogo, se o grupo diz que determinada coisa é verídica, sua postura como pesquisador inclui levar em consideração aquilo que está sendo falado a sério, com o intuito de perceber os significados decorrentes dessa sentença. Logo, no meu campo de pesquisa, se as bailarinas de “dança do ventre” afirmam que a essa dança se originou no Egito Antigo, é preciso tomar essa afirmação como ponto de partida para perceber o que essa associação revela daquelas dinâmicas sociais que são estabelecidas. No entanto, isso não significa concluir que, de fato, o que elas dizem é a verdade em última instância, pois como se sabe a “dança do ventre” é uma criação Ocidental do Oriente inserida em relações de dominação e exploração do “outro”. Um dos objetivos principais pretendidos é descrever o que as pessoas fazem com aquilo que elas dizem que é verdade, quais são as motivações e o modo como fazem. Nesse sentido, busca-se delimitar o estar no mundo de alguns grupos de “dança do ventre”. Desenvolvimento Em parte, os dados obtidos para essa pesquisa se basearam em Netnografia, ou seja, Etnografia feita pelas mídias sociais (KOZINETS, 2002; MARKHAM, 2004). Além do trabalho de campo em um estúdio de dança no bairro de Campo Grande, Zona Oeste do Rio de Janeiro. Um ponto principal para dar conta de entender a relação do Egito Antigo com a “dança do ventre” é a noção de origem. Essa é uma questão dada pelo campo, inclusive as bailarinas escrevem sobre ela em seus blogs e páginas pessoais em mídias sociais. No entanto, essa preocupação não se restringiu ao campo artístico, sendo possível encontrar alguns poucos trabalhos acadêmicos sobre o assunto.     Thesis in The Date Of Tomb TT 254 Verification Through Analysis of its Scenes Thesis in The Date of Tomb TT 254 Verification through Analysis of its Scenes Sahar Mohamed Abd el-Rahman Ibrahim Faculty of Archeology, Cairo University, Egypt Abstract: This paper extrapolates and reaches an approximate date of the TOMB of TT 254, the tomb of Mosi (Amenmose) (TT254), has not been known to Egyptologists until year 1914, when it was taken up from modern occupants by the Antiquities Service, The tomb owner is Mosi , the Scribe of the treasury and custodian of the estate of queen Tiye in the domain of Amun This tomb forms with two other tombs (TT294-TT253) a common courtyard within Al-Khokha necropolis. Because the Titles/Posts of the owner of this tomb indicated he was in charge of the estate of Queen Tiye, no wonder a cartouche of this Queen were written among wall paintings. Evidently, this tomb’s stylistic features of wall decorations are clearly influenced by the style of Amarna; such as the male figures with prominent stomachs, and elongated heads, these features refer that tomb TT254 has been finished just after the reign of Amenhotep IV (Akhenatun). Table stands between the deceased and Osiris which is divided into two parts: the first part (as a tray) is loading with offerings, then the other is a bearer which consisted of two stands shaped as pointed pyramids… based on the connotations: 1- Offerings tables. 2- Offerings Bearers. 3- Anubis. 4- Mourners. 5- Reclamation of land for cultivation. 6- Banquet in some noble men tombs at Thebes through New Kingdom era.

Elite titles and roles such as “Overseer of Cattle” were granted to high ranking officials or nobility during the New Kingdom, and large numbers of cattle were collected as tribute throughout the Pharaonic period. The movement of these animals along the Nile, whether for secular or sacred reasons, required the development of specialized vessels. The cattle ferries of ancient Egypt provide a unique opportunity to understand facets of the Egyptian maritime community. A comparison of cattle barges with other Egyptian ship types from these same periods leads to a better understand how these vessels fit into the larger maritime paradigm, and also serves to test the plausibility of aspects such as vessel size and design, composition of crew, and lading strategies. Examples of cargo vessels similar to the cattle barge have been found and excavated, such as ships from Thonis-Heracleion, Ayn Sukhna, Alexandria, and Mersa/Wadi Gawasis. This type of cross analysis allows for the tentative reconstruction of a vessel type which has not been identified previously in the archaeological record.

SUMMARY I have often heard it said, and even seen it written, that no one actually knows who the surveyors of ancient Egypt were ! This could not be more distant from the facts ! In reality, even though the harpedonaptae (“rope stretchers”) who were the surveyor’s assistants were not individually known, the master surveyors were not only well known but each even had his own tomb adorned with wall paintings and hieroglyphics of a biographical nature attesting to their achievements and status during their lives in the service of the King. Ironically, the four well testified Royal Surveyors, or Scribes of the Fields, as they were officially titled, are all from the Eighteenth Dynasty of the New Kingdom (around 1400 B.C.). This is the period of the ancient culture most renowned for producing such notable characters as the Thutmoses (four main ones), Akhenaten, Nefertiti, Tutankhamun, Hatshepsut, and Horemheb, the great general. It is not surprising that to this very active, and somewhat turbulent era, we can attribute the four Royal Scribe Surveyors, Amenhotep-si-se, Djeserkareseneb, Khaemhat and Menna, through whose funerary monumentation we can take a colourful and exciting trip back nearly 3500 years to experience Royal surveying – Egyptian style ! García González The tomb QH32 is located at the Necropolis of Qubbet el-Hawa. It is carved on the rock hill. The tomb was discovered and excavated during the campaigns of Grenfell and under the supervision of Wallis Budge between 1886-1887. Even if the tomb was excavated during the 19th Century, the information about the burial areas of the hypogeum (the shafts and the burial chambers) was inadequate and lacking. After a first survey, in 2016, it was verified that this part of the tomb had never been excavated since Grenfell works and it is still full of material looted, higgledy-piggledy and in poor state of conservation. During 2017 season, the team of the University of Jaén began the excavation of this funeral complex. The main purposes of the excavation of this tomb are to complete the plan of the tomb to understand the use of the hill, the funerary architecture, as well, we intend to know the different moment of its construction, its uses and reuses. The aim of the present paper is to provide new information about the recent discoveries and a summary of the archaeological works in QH32. Strong ABSTRACT Light is seldom addressed in archaeological research, despite the fact that, at least in ancient Egypt, it would have impacted upon all aspects of life. When discussing light in Egyptology, the vast majority of scholarly attention is placed on the sun, the primary source of illumination. In comparison, artificial light receives very little attention, primarily due to a lack of archaeological evidence for lighting equipment prior to the 7th century BC. However, 19th and 20th century lychnological studies have exaggerated this point by placing an overwhelming emphasis on decorated lamps from the Greco-Roman Period. In an attempt to move beyond these antiquarian roots, recent scholarship has turned towards examining the role that light, both natural and artificial, played in aspects of ancient societies’ architecture, ideology and religion. The extensive body of archaeological, textual and iconographic evidence that remains from ancient Egypt is well suited to this type of study and forms three core data sets in this thesis. Combining a materials- based examination of artificial light with a contextualized, theoretical analysis contributes to a richer understanding of ancient Egyptian culture from the 3rd to 1st millennium BC. The first three chapters of this study establish a typology of known artificial lighting equipment, as well as a lexicon of lighting terminology.

    DISTRIBUTION OF LIFE FORCE IN THE FESTIVAL OF THE VALLEY -A Comparative Study with the Opet Festival- Masashi FUK.AYA * Among known festivals celebrated in ancient Thebes, many Egyptologists agree that the Festivals of the Valley and of Opet are the most important. This is verified by many historical documents, which juxtapose the two festivals in texts and pictorial depictions on a great scale. Thus, it is significant to compare the two festivals to obtain better insight into their detailed religious context and new perspectives for further research, which has not been pursued, particularly for the Valley Festival, since the 1950's. This article intends to shed light on the Valley Festival, focusing on the socio-religious function by an analogy with the Opet Festival, research of which has gained modest but not negligible progress in the last two decades. The most distinct feature of the Valley Festival was that it supplied not only a formal setting for the renewal of kingship and royal ancestral cult, but also a private setting for the common people to hold a banquet in their family tombs. These two dimensions were closely linked through the figure of Amen, who distributed offerings to convey his godly power in both spheres. According to records from the private tombs, the people received various offerings from the temples where the procession of Amen made a stop during the Valley Festival. Yet the distribution of temple offerings is not attributed only to the Valley Festival, but also to many other festivals. What distinguishes the Valley Festival then? By focusing on the differences in ideologies between the Valley and the Opet Festivals, this paper will explore how the god (or king) and the people were interrelated during the festivals in different manners.
