It is a city that will surprise you and exceed your expectations. It is unique – small by surface area, but huge in terms of hospitality and quality of life. Having a green soul and a high level of environmental awareness, it has managed to preserve its green character to the present day. Three quarters of the entire territory of Ljubljana are green areas. From Ljubljana, nature is easily accessible. Everything leads towards green, active and healthy. This is no surprising, giving that Slovenia is one of the cleanest countries in Europe; one of the most densely forested countries in Europe and richest in terms of biodiversity; one of the most abundant in water (Ljubljana is one of the few European capitals which can boast of natural drinking water without prior treatment); more than a third of all land is part of Natura 2.000, an EUwide network of special protection areas; and the cuisine is surprisingly tasteful it is authentic and natural, with homegrown agricultural products and negligible industrial input. It is no wonder that the first DMC in South East Europe with a green globe certificate comes from Slovenia. At Liberty Adriatic we can help you organize your journey with a respect of a natural, social and cultural environment. We expand awareness of the consequences of our trips, we respect local values and strive for fair trade and fair tourism. For more than a millennium, artists, poets, traders, and explorers have been drawn to the idyllic scenery of Hangzhou’s vast West Lake, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Thanks to the lucrative manufacturing and tech industries (Alibaba’s headquarters), the city is one of China’s wealthiest. The busy airport now accepts privatejet landings, and as Hangzhou’s residents and visitors have become increasingly sophisticated, its hotels and restaurants have followed suit. The most notable hotel is the riverside Azure Qiantang, a Luxury Collection hotel designed by PierreYves Rochon. In March this year, the 417room Midtown ShangriLa Hangzhou opened within steps of West Lake. The downtown food scene is no less refined: Mercato Piccolo, from chef JeanGeorges Vongerichten, serves housemade dishes. Wujie, a branch of Shanghai’s celebrated vegetarian restaurant also settled down. Do not leave the city without paying a visit to the Longjing tea fields, the source of China's most famous tea. Two hours outside the city in Xinfeng village is the Hidden House, a rustic hideaway with giant outdoor hot tubs, hearty home style cooking, and picturesque stone pathways on which to stroll through the surrounding bamboo forest. You can take direct flights from Hong Kong, Korea, Japan or Express Train from Shanghai (60 minutes). For more information please contact us at: HongKong@libertyint.com .

  • Towards a Digital Twin for Heritage Interpretation
TOWARDS A DIGITAL TWIN FOR HERITAGE INTERPRETATION From HBIM to AR visualization ELOISA DEZEN-KEMPTER1, DAVI LOPES MEZENCIO2, ERICA DE MATOS MIRANDA3, DANILO PICO DE SÁ4 and ULISSES DIAS5 1,2,3,4,5School of Technology, UNICAMP [email protected] 2,3,4{d169759|e155254| d214848}@dac.unicamp.br [email protected] Abstract. Data-driven Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology has brought new tools to efficiently deal with the tension between the real and the virtual environments in the field of Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Operation (AECO). For historic assets, BIM represents a paradigm shift, enabling better decision-making about preventive maintenance, heritage management, and interpretation. The potential application of the Historic-BIM is creating a digital twin of the asset. This paper deals with the concept of a virtual environment for the consolidation and dissemination of heritage information. Here we show the process of creating interactive virtual environments for the Pampulha Modern Ensemble designed by Oscar Niemeyer in the 1940s, and the workflow to their dissemination in an AR visualization APP. Our results demonstrate the APP feasibility to the Pampulha’s building interpretation. Keywords. Augmented Reality (AR); Historic Building Information Modelling (HBIM); Heritage Interpretation; Modern Architecture. 1. Introduction The Digital Twin (DT) can be understood as a probabilistic, multiscale, multiphysics integrated simulation of a system that uses the best physical models, sensors, and history to mirror the life cycle of its corresponding twin. The DT can also predict the system’s response to security-critical events and uncover previously unknown issues before they become critical by comparing current and predicted responses.

There are few places as magnificent and varied as Brazil. On the one hand, it has been blessed with the most beautiful beaches and breathtaking natural wonders, on the other, it has produced visionary architects such as Oscar Niemeyer, Lucio Costa and Affonso Reidy who have made Brazilian modernism world-renowned. In addition to designing acclaimed buildings such as the Ministry of Health and Culture and the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro, these visionaries planned the modernist city of Brasília from the ground up. As an emerging BRICS state, and since hosting the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympics, Brazil has received more attention in recent years. These events have been the impetus behind many new ambitious infrastructure projects. Our journey takes us to the four major Brazilian cities, each one known for its architectural and cultural characteristics.
