We visit the SAINT DOMINGO OF SILOS MONASTERY (admission includ- CATEDRAL BURGOS ed), a place of spiritual refuge and one the most beautiful places to admire the Spanish Romanic Art, unique in Europe. Then we arrive at the noble city of CO- VARRUBIAS, with its old walled case, its typical Houses. In the Collegiate Church we can admire the triptych and also visit the tomb of Fernán Gonzalez, first count of Castilla. and its interesting vintage weapons collection. After a brief journey, arrival and accommodation in the city of BURGOS.
Day 02 . Burgos- Atapuerca- Lerma- Palencia.- After breakfast time to get to know the city of BURGOS, crossroads; its spectacular Gothic Cathedral stands out, built for more than three centuries, where the tomb of El Cid and his wife Da. Jimena, is located, as well as the Holy Mary´s Arch and the House of Cordón.
Next we will arrive at ATAPUERCA FIELDS (entrance included), a UNESCO World Herit- age Site, where human remains of more than 900.000 years old were discovered, the Homo Antecessor (in case of having capacity and reservation problems in the Atapuerca site, we can visit the Museum of The Evolution of Man).
We arrive at LERMA, with a grandiose appearance with its imposing Ducal Palace (today COVARRUBIAS National Parador). We can rest and have a coffee before continuing to Land of Fields where PALENCIA is, the royal residence and palace where the first university of Spain was found- ed in 1208, and then take a walk through its beautiful streets, squares and churches. Day 03 . Palencia- Valladolid- Segovia- Madrid.- Breakfast and departure to VALLADOLID, capital of The Kingdom of Castile and for 6 years of the Spanish Empire, a historical complex made up of Palaces, noble houses, churches museums and where we can also experiment tapas in its bars.
We are heading to SEGOVIA, another UNESCO World Heritage city. We will know its Alázar, where we will stop to take a beautiful picture, its well-preserved Roman aqueduct and its pedestrian streets. Arrival in FATIMA, one of the greatest references of the Marian cult in the world. We will start in the city of TRABZON or Trebizond, one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world, birth- place of Suleymaniye the Magnificent. This city was a commercial port on the Silk Route and a meeting point between cultures and religions. It still preserves a beautiful fortified old town with a medieval castle. We will start in the city of TRABZON or Trebizond, one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world, birth- place of Suleymaniye the Magnificent. This city was a commercial port on the Silk Route and a meeting point between cultures and religions. It still preserves a beautiful fortified old town with a medieval castle. During the walk we will admire its port, the largest of The Black Sea, as well as visit the Hagia Sophia Museum, an important example of Byzantine architecture built between 1238 and 1263, transformed into a mosque in 1670 and com- TOKATLI CANYON pletely restored as a museum in the mid-20th century (entrance included).
Afterwards we will visit the Greek-Orthodox Monastery of Sumela (entrance included), located on a steep cliff in the Black Mountains, at an altitude of more than 300 m. We will arrive at Lake Uzungol, a place of incomparable natural beauty and a popular tourist destination. The next stop in our route is the city of MUS, an interesting city whose origin dates back to the 6th century. It has been under the successive rule of Per- sians, Armenians, Byzantines and Ottomans among others, and preserves two citadels and a caravansarai. We begin our exciting itinerary to know 7 cities from the Roman province of Asia, mentioned in the Book of Revelation, which was unveiled to John the Apostle. In each of these cities there were local churches or congregations of Christians that were selected by the Lord to send a specific message to each of them in early Christianity. In addition to the religious and symbolic aspect, you will also find a unique tour of historical places and nature.
In the morning, after picking you up at your hotel, we will first go to the legendary TROY (entrance included), scene of Homer´s Iliad. We will enjoy a visit to the 9 sites of the city on the Hisarlik hill, and we will see the replica of the famous Trojan horse.
We will continue to CANAKKALE, accommodation and dinner. Day 02 . Canakkale- Pergamon- Thyatira- Kusadasi.- In the morning, after breakfast, we will visit the first of the churches that give name KUSADASI to our trip, the mythical PERGAMON. Site of many pagan temples, Pergamon also represented a strong bastion of Christianity since the 2nd century AD, as con- firmed by the monumental size of the Basilica of St John. It was the capital of the Hellenic kingdom and its library the second richest after Alexandria´s in Egypt. We shall not forget that the parchment was invented here. We will visit the Basilica of Saint John (The Red Basilica), the Temple of Zeus and the Emperor Trajan, the Hellenic Theatre and the place of the library (tickets included).
After a short transfer by coach, we will arrive at the Asclepeion of Pergamon, one of the three most famous hospitals or “Healing Temple” in the ancient world (entrance includ- ed).
In the afternoon, we will reach THYATIRA, another of the 7 Churches (entrance includ- ed) mentioned in the Apocalypse. At the time, this was a small city without fortifications or acropolis, but of fundamental importance due to its strategic position on the commercial routes. It was, therefore, a city of artisans and guilds as is reflected in a passage from the Acts of the Apostles.
