AMPLIGO is long-lasting and works through ingestion, contact, ovicidal and ovi-larvicidal activity. AMPLIGO is effective against Lepidoptera larvae resistant to organophosphates, pyrethroids and insect growth regulators. After AMPLIGO ingestion, larval feeding stops immediately leading to death. Safety precautions • Do not eat, drink or smoke while mixing or applying the product or before washing hands and face • Avoid contact of skin, eyes or clothing with concentrate or spray mixture. • Keep the product in its original tightly closed container, apart from drinks, food and feed, under lock and key, out of reach of children, unauthorized persons and domestic animals. • Store in a dry, shady and well-ventilated area. Avoid temperatures above +35°C. Do not stack containers in piles more than 2m high, in order to avoid product compaction or damage Safety precautions when mixing • Wear adequate protective clothing, such as overall with long sleeves, impermeable gloves, rubber boots, as well as eye/face protection (face shield). Refer to the label to see pictograms on the left hand side of the colour band. • After emptying container, rinse three times adding washings to the spray tank Safety precautions when spraying • Wear adequate protective clothing, such as overall with long sleeves, impermeable gloves and rubber boots. Refer to the label to see pictograms on the right side of the colour band. • Don’t apply against the wind, or under strong wind conditions. • Do not unclog nozzles, orifices or valves with your mouth. • Ensure that there is no leak or any other defect in the spraying system • Avoid any contact with the spray solution and do not inhale the spray mist. Safety precautions after use • Dispose of unwanted spray solution by spraying off on waste ground, far away from any source of water. • Keep unused product in its original container, tightly closed. • Wash thoroughly all protective equipment and wash entire body and change clothing. Wash contamined clothing before re-use. • Do not enter the treated area within 24 hours unless recommended protective clothing is worn 2 Empty containers disposal • Empty carefully the container, rinse three times and add the rinse to the spray solution. • Do not re-use empty containers for other purposes • Follow the local regulations • Inquire with the manufacturer or distributor about possibilities of collection or recycling. • Puncture, cut or crush the containers so that they cannot be used again. Then bury or burn in a safe place, away from water supplies. Do not inhale fumes. Unwanted product disposal • Inquire with the manufacturer or distributor about possibilities of collection or recycling. • Dispose the product in a special center for destruction of hazardous wastes. Unprotected workers must vacate the area being treated. • In case of poisoning call a Doctor and make this label available to him. • Re-entry: Do not enter treated area for 24 hours unless wearing protective clothing. 3 FIRST AID If poisoning is suspected, stop work immediately and call a physician. Show label to the physician. Medical Advice: Skin contact paresthesia effects (itching, tingling, burning or numbness) are transient, lasting up to 24 hours. Treat symptomatically. • Skin Contact: Remove contaminated clothing and thoroughly wash the effected parts of the body with soap and water. • Eye contact: Rinse eyes with clean water for several minutes. • Inhalation: Move the victim to fresh air. If breathing is irregular or stopped, administer artificial Respiration. Keep patient warm and at rest. Call a physician. • If swallowed: seek medical advice immediately and show this container or label. Do NOT induce vomiting. Note: Never give anything to an unconscious patient and never induce vomiting. Antidote No specific antidote is known; apply symptomatic therapy. If the amount of chemical is judged to be less than a lethal dose, observe the patient and treat symptomatically. If gastric lavage is considered necessary, prevent aspiration of gastric material. Consider administration of active charcoal and a laxative. Environment and Wildlife Very toxic to bees. Do not apply or allow the product to drift to plants in bloom if bees are actively foraging in the treated area. Very toxic to fish. DO NOT contaminate water used for irrigation or domestic purposes and water areas, such as ponds, ditches, lakes, drainage systems, etc. by disposal of product waste. Newly treated areas must not be grazed and all livestock is to be kept out. RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT AMPLIGO is a group code 3 and 28 insecticide. Any insect population may contain individuals naturally resistant to AMPLIGO and other group code 3 and 28 insecticides. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the insect population if these insecticides are used repeatedly and exclusively in programs. AMPLIGO or any other group code 3 and 28 insecticides may not control these resistant insects. To delay insecticide resistance: • Avoid exclusive repeated use of insecticides from the same insecticide group code. Alternate or tank mix with products from different insecticide group codes. • Integrate other control methods (chemical, cultural, biological) into insect control programs. 4 As a result of its unique mode of action, AMPLIGO is ideally suited for applications where resistance management is important. These guidelines will maximise the effective life of the product: • Where appropriate, alternate AMPLIGO with compounds from different chemical classes (oxadiazine, organophosphate, neonicotinoid, spinosyn, diacylhydrazine or other insect growth regulators). We recommend alternation with registered products from these classes and not to exceed the maximum number of AMPLIGO applications per season as per the instructions under DIRECTIONS FOR USE on this label. • Monitor insect populations and apply AMPLIGO according to the label instructions when locally determined economic thresholds are reached. It is recommended that two to three consecutive AMPLIGO applications are applied as a block spray. Follow these label recommendations precisely for the dosage rates, spray intervals and the optimum timing to apply AMPLIGO. Syngenta cannot accept responsibility for any losses that may result from the failure to control pests resistant to AMPLIGO. For specific information on resistance management contact the registration holder of this product. Mode of Action AMPLIGO is long-lasting and works through ingestion, contact, ovicidal and ovi-larvicidal activity. DIRECTIONS FOR USE. Use only as directed. Thorough and even coverage of the crop is essential. Do not apply during the heat of the day or if the plants are wet or if rain is imminent. GENERAL DIRECTIONS Aerial Application: Precautions: Aerial application of this product on Capsicums (peppers), Cotton, Cruciferae, Soyabeans, Potatoes, maize, sugarcane, may only be done by a registered aerial application operator using a correctly calibrated, registered aircraft according to the instructions of SANS 10118 (Aerial Application of Agricultural Remedies). It is important to ensure that the spray mixture is distributed evenly over the target area and that the loss of spray material during application is restricted to a minimum. It is therefore essential that the following criteria are met: 5 Application parameters: • Volume: A minimum volume of 30 litres per hectare is recommended. As this product has not been evaluated at a reduced volume rate, the registration holder cannot guarantee efficacy or be held responsible for any adverse effects if the product is applied aerially at a lower volume rate than recommended above. • Droplet coverage: Droplet coverage of 25 -30 droplets per cm² must be recovered at the target. • Droplet size: A droplet spectrum with a VMD of 280 -300 microns is recommended. Ensure that the production of fine droplets (less than 150 microns -high drift & evaporation potential) is restricted to a minimum. • Flying height: The height of the spray boom should be maintained at 3 -4 meters above the target. Do don’t spray when aircraft is in a climb, at the top or during a dive, or when banking. Equipment: Use suitable atomising equipment (hydraulic nozzles or rotary atomisers) that will produce the desired droplet size and coverage but which will ensure the minimum loss
