Daisy werd ook geuit door Russi Taylor in Fantasia , hoewel ze geen regels had, alleen een schreeuw. Volgens sommige bronnen werd Daisy in geïntroduceerd als Donna Duck, maar er is tegenstrijdig bewijs dat Donna een vroege versie van Daisy was of een volledig apart personage. Donna maakte haar enige geanimeerde verschijning in de korte film Don Donald , geregisseerd door Ben Sharpsteen. Het was de eerste aflevering van de Donald Duck -filmserie en was ook de eerste keer dat Donald met een liefdesbelang werd getoond. Ze wordt geportretteerd met hetzelfde pittige temperament en werd als zodanig ook geuit door Clarence Nash. Aan het einde van het verhaal laat ze Donald hatelijk achter in de woestijn nadat zijn auto pech heeft. De korte eindigt met een onder de indruk zijnde Daisy die haar nieuwe vriend overladen met kussen. De korte film onderscheidt zich van andere Donald-korte films uit die periode door het gebruik van moderne muziek en surrealistische situaties. Daisy's sprekende rol kwam 4 jaar later opnieuw in Donald's Crime. Donald gaat akkoord met haar voorwaarden en volgt de surrealistische methode van post die een "beledigingsmachine" bestelt , een apparaat dat voortdurend verbale en fysieke beledigingen naar hem slingert. Hij doorstaat het hele proces totdat hij zich in staat voelt om kalm te blijven. Hij gaat weer op bezoek bij Daisy en deze keer doet hij rustig het raam open. Maar als Daisy haar vriend haar nieuwe hoed laat zien, is zijn reactie oncontroleerbaar gelach. Daisy wordt van zichzelf en van de kortste keren woedend door erop te wijzen dat Donald niet de enige Duck is die een training in woedebeheersing nodig heeft. Er is een vervolg met betrekking tot haar humeur in een aflevering in Mickey Mouse Works, waar zij en Donald een date hebben in een restaurant waarin ze allebei een slecht humeur krijgen. Hun relatieproblemen kwamen ook aan bod in Donald's Double Trouble 28 juni Dit keer bekritiseert Daisy zijn slechte beheersing van de Engelse taal en zijn minder dan verfijnde manieren. Donald wil Daisy niet verliezen en moet een antwoord op het probleem vinden. Maar zijn oplossing betreft zijn eigen look-alike die toevallig alle gewenste kwaliteiten heeft. Zijn naamloze look-alike is momenteel toevallig werkloos en gaat akkoord met dit plan. Donald geeft het geld voor zijn dates met Daisy, maar beseft al snel dat de look-alike als een rivaliserende vrijer dient. De rest van de korte film concentreert zich op zijn toenemende jaloezie en pogingen om de look-alike tijdens de volgende date te vervangen. Een mislukte poging tot een tunnel van liefde resulteert erin dat de twee mannelijke Eenden per ongeluk de tunnel in elkaars handen verlaten. Daisy loopt helemaal doorweekt naar buiten. Ze springt op en neer en klinkt als een plaat die te snel wordt afgespeeld terwijl Donald en zijn look-alike wegrennen. In Dumb Bell of the Yukon is Daisy de motivatie achter Donalds jachttrip nadat hij een brief van haar heeft gelezen waarin staat dat ze van bontjassen houdt. Daisy verschijnt kort in een niet-sprekende rol in Donalds dagdroom en stelt zich voor hoe blij ze zal zijn. Haar volgende optreden in Sleepy Time Donald 9 mei betrof Daisy die probeerde een slaapwandelende Donald te redden van het afdwalen in gevaar. Donald is los in een stedelijke omgeving en de humor komt voort uit de problemen die Daisy zelf lijdt terwijl ze hem probeert te beschermen. Daisy was ook de eigenlijke hoofdrolspeler in Donald's Dilemma 11 juli Donald en Daisy zijn uit op een date wanneer een bloempot op zijn hoofd valt. Hij komt snel genoeg bij bewustzijn, maar met enkele opvallende verschillen. Donald blijft een bekende crooner worden en zijn vertolking van When You Wish upon a Star wordt een hit. Hij wordt bij elke stap omringd door vrouwelijke fans. Ondertussen kan Daisy haar voormalige geliefde niet eens benaderen en haar verlies resulteert in een aantal psychische symptomen. Verschillende scènes tonen haar die lijdt aan anorexia , slapeloosheid en zelfverklaarde waanzin. Een vaak gecensureerde scène laat zien dat ze haar wil om te leven verliest en verschillende methoden van zelfmoord overweegt. Ze vertelt haar verhaal aan een psycholoog die vaststelt dat Donald zijn geheugen zou terugkrijgen met een andere bloempot die op zijn hoofd valt, maar waarschuwt dat zijn verbeterde stem ook verloren kan gaan samen met zijn zangcarrière. Hij biedt Daisy een dilemma. Of de wereld heeft zijn zanger, maar Daisy verliest hem, of Daisy krijgt haar Donald terug, maar de wereld verliest hem. Gesteld met de vraag "haar of de wereld", antwoordt Daisy met een klinkende en bezitterige schreeuw van "Me, Me, Me". Al snel is Donald teruggekeerd naar zijn oude zelf en is hij zijn carrière vergeten. Zijn fans vergeten hem.     Journal of Religion & Society Volume 6 (2004) ISSN 1522-5658 David, Mickey Mouse, and the Evolution of an Icon1 Lowell K. Handy, American Theological Library Association Abstract The transformation of an entertaining roguish figure to an institutional icon is investigated with respect to the figures of Mickey Mouse and the biblical King David. Using the three-stage evolution proposed by R. Brockway, the figures of Mickey and David are shown to pass through an initial entertaining phase, a period of model behavior, and a stage as icon. The biblical context for these shifts is basically irretrievable so the extensive materials available for changes in the Mouse provide sufficient information on personnel and social forces to both illuminate our lack of understanding for changes in David while providing some comparative material for similar development. Introduction [1] One can perceive a progression in the development of the figure of David from the rather unsavory character one encounters in the Samuel narratives, through the religious, righteous king of Chronicles, to the messianic abstraction of the Jewish and Christian traditions.2 The movement is a shift from “trickster,” to “Bourgeoisie do-gooder,” to “corporate image” proposed for the evolution of Mickey Mouse by Robert Brockway.3 There are, in fact, several interesting parallels between the portrayals of Mickey Mouse and David, but simply a look at the context that produced the changes in each character may help to understand the visions of David in three surviving biblical textual traditions in light of the adaptability of the Mouse for which there is a great deal more contextual data to investigate.

    FILM 1/30e No.2 Mr.and Mrs.Legend came to Japan Mr.and Mrs. Davis (Photo:T.Namiki) Mr. Mark Davis, a legendary animator at Disney Studio, and his wife visiting Japan. On Oct. 1995, Mr. Mark Davis, visited Japan with his wife, Alice, for 17 days. He is a great animator ( At Disney Studio, they call "imagineer designer" ) who has had varied careers since he has taken a part in the management of Disneyland with Walt Disney from the beginning, he's been here several times to operate Tokyo Disneyland. But the contact with people in animation field was limited. This visit was at the invitation of the company which sells the serge, and many events were held. This was the first time his visit Japan got a lot of publicity in the media. We are glad that he was introduced not only to the people in Animation trade but also to the general public. He is a member of " Nine Old Man" , the group of skillful animators who produced many long animation cartoon films of Disney. He was the leading animator and character designer for "Bambi ", "Cinderella", "Peter pan", "101 Dalmatians", "Sleeping Beauty", etc. He also took a part in story making, stage setting, layout in some films such as Bambi. He drew villains like "Cruella de Ville" and "Meleficent" with sharp lines, and he designed American Beauty like "Tinker Bell", "Princess Aurora" and "Cinderella" simply and nobly. Few other animators can draw dessins as accurately as he did. I cannot think of those who match him except other members of "Nine Old Men" and only the late Mr.

WELCOME Welcome to "Thanks for the Memories!" The Alex Theatre is an extraordinary and special place in Glendale, and three of the City's special organizations with connections to the Alex have come together tonight to bring you an exceptional program. We're so happy that you've joined us this evening to share fond memories of this place, and to remember a time when Brand Boulevard was lined with movie theaters. Film, architecture and history converge to this day, as the Alex continues to be the site of dozens of productions. Memories continue to be made every month. Glendale has many connections to I-lollywood and the film industry - from Nell Shipman, the local multi-hyphenate who 100 years ago wrote, directed, produced and starred in productions on the silent screen, to Clarence Nash, the Glendale resident who provided the voice for Donald Duck. Tonight, you'll see other stars, films and images that recall a Golden Age when Glendale's movie screens flickered with the newest releases from its neighbor, I-lollywood. A special thanks to Adam Felber, our always sharp and talented host, for taking us on a nostalgic and entertaining journey this evening. Dette er først og fremst takket være Donald-bladets ualminnelige sterke posisjon her på berget. I den øvrige sivilisasjonen fortoner det seg litt annerledes, og for de fleste ikke-tegneserielesende er Mikke Mus den karakteren som oftest assosieres med Disney. Det var tross alt Mikke som startet det hele i 1928 med animasjonen Steamboat Willie, og faktisk ble de andre Disney-karakterene Pluto og Langbein utviklet før Donald kom på banen i Silly Symphonies-episoden The Wise Little Hen i 1934. Det er Donalds første opptreden i The Wise Little Hen som naturlig nok åpner Disney Treasures: The Chronological Donald: 1934 -1941. Her fremstår Donald i sin karakteristiske matrosuniform, men med lengre nebb og føtter enn det vi er vant med i dag. Personligheten er langt fra utviklet i denne tidlige fasen, selv om stemmen, levert av Clarence «Ducky» Nash, er på plass. Over de neste årene ble Donald-karakteren utviklet videre, og fant først sin kjente form mot slutten av 30-tallet.
