Introduction Prleks Is a Belgrade-Based Project Bureau That Specializes in the Design of HVAC, Both Building Services and Infrastructure DESIGN AND ENGINEERING PRLEKS COMPANY LTD. BELGRADE ESTABLISHED1990 Introduction Prleks is a Belgrade-based project bureau that specializes in the design of HVAC, both building services and infrastructure. The company portfolio includes hundreds of successfully completed projects in Serbia and abroad, along with strong references from highly reputable government, foundation and corporate clients. Since 1990, Prleks has consistently delivered robust and enduring solutions to a growing customer base, all the while keeping up the pace with technology and employing modern tools to translate customer needs into viable products and services. In doing so, the company religiously observes relevant legislation, while seeking to find the best possible solution for challenges that we are faced to and satisfy the highest industry standards. Intensively using of modern tools, like Revit MEP, brought us in exciting new world of BIM. Often operating under large-scale development programs, Prleks helped to rebuild facilities that range from government ministries, universities and hospitals, to retail centers, commercial and residential buildings, manufacturing facilities, heating plants, hotels, cultural heritage sites, and telecom services. The company also performs project supervision tasks and provides advisory services to selected clients. Although based in Serbia, the most of our recent projects are located out of Serbia, in Europe and Asia. Thanks to trust we earned from prominent clients and world leading architectural and engineering companies, we have been awarded to participate in exciting projects over the world. History The small enterprise was founded by three local engineers as a joint venture with state-owned company Kolubara in Belgrade in 1990, under its original name of Kolubara Projekt. Since the founders had substantial experience in the field of system design, the company was set up mainly to provide services related to the design of buildings and installations. With an agile and flexible approach, yet buoyed by solid management and execution, Kolubara Projekt soon came to be recognized as a reliable business partner, who thanks to its early successes also managed to overcome rather challenging times during the 1990s. Despite the lack of investments at the time, the business owners managed to secure profitable projects and preserve an exceptional company reputation. In 2000, Kolubara Projekt went private and changed its name to Prleks. Mr. Prvul Stojković became the sole company owner, after serving as an adviser and project manager since its inception. Services Prleks, though specialized in HVAC (Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning) matters, can facilitate the other MEP disciplines, like Public Health, Low and Extra Low Voltage, Lighting, BMS, Sprinkler, Irrigation. On demand, we can provide design of all other projects, including architectural, structural design, landscape, interior design, involving the same teams we are working with since 2006. In our engagements, we are often called upon to create concept, schematic, detail design, different engineering reports, Value Engineering analysis. We also draft tender documentation and provide other types of support to partner companies in a bid to win new business. Having projects abroad, we have developed cooperation with local companies in some of countries and therefore we can organize projects to be submitted by firms with appropriate local license. Prleks insists on strict compliance with prevailing technical standards and legislation in all countries in which it operates, but also adheres to a number of recommendations issued by reputable international technical societies. Moreover, we continuously strive to optimize our processes and rely on licensed software to keep pace with technology Specifically, we assist you with: • The whole designing process, from design brief, over to concept and schematic design, and all the way to the detail design and tender documentation • For some countries we can also provide projects to be submitted for building permit by licensed local company • Different types of engineering reports, like thermal model of building, acoustic report, Value engineering analysis, and other consulting services • BIM model (made in Revit MEP) • Supervision over construction process based on project made by us • Drafting of tender documentation suitable for offering construction works based on "turn-key" method STANDARDS & CERTIFICATIONS: • We observe the Serbian standard SRPS and all other national rules and regulations • We comply with the Russian standards such as SNIP, SP and others • We adhere to ASHRAE, DIN and BS recommendations as much as possible STAFF: • 9 mechanical engineers • 2 office assistants Fig. 1: Schematic -cooling tower installation, Shopping mall “BigCEE”, Novi Sad, Serbia (AutoCAD) Fig. 2: Layout of ductwork, Shopping mall “BigCEE”, Novi Sad, Serbia (Revit MEP) Fig. 3: Mechanical plant room, Hotel “Dagomis”, Sochi, Russia (Revit MEP) Fig. 4: Boiler and plant room, “IKEA”, Beograd, Serbia (Revit MEP) Operations & objectives Prleks is a privately owned, limited liability engineering company that employs highly skilled full-time staff, including licensed mechanical engineers and office assistants, all of whom can facilitate communication in both English and Serbian. Over time we have also developed a functional network of associate engineers with a proven track record in executing demanding tasks and delivering reliable solutions under complex international projects. Prleks is premised on the belief that engineering excellence lays the groundwork for robust infrastructure development. Passion for engineering and relentless customer focus are the key planks of Prleks and its offerings. To that end, we aim to use the accumulated knowledge of experienced engineers together with the energy of their younger counterparts in a bid to create great project designs which are aligned both with environmental interests and economic necessity. At the same time, we are constantly seeking greener ways to do business, increase reliance on renewable energy sources, and mitigate the overall ecological impact of infrastructure growth. Ultimately, we strive to reconcile at times competing objectives of structural development and environmental protection, while leaving a unique footprint on infrastructure landscape with a view to furthering the overall progress of society. Management Prvul Stojković, M.Sc.ME Chairman From day one, Prvul Stojković has been instrumental in driving and developing Prleks into a successful project bureau that it is today. His technical experience and business savvy proved to be an indispensable asset in generating growth for Prleks and he remains an active force in overseeing today's activities and helping to reach critical business decisions. Aleksandar Stojković, M.Sc.ME Managing Director Aleksandar Stojković has been with Prleks since 1995 and a trusted partner in management for more than a decade. He continues to play a crucial role in driving Prleks business development and leading key projects with focus on the international arena, above all, Russia. Zoran Stojković, M.Sc.ME Technical Director Zoran Stojković is the remaining piece in the Prleks management triumvirate and a rock-solid technical pillar behind its endeavors who has continuously met the most difficult engineering challenges. During his career, he mentored more than his share of professionals and recent university graduates who went on to become sought-after licensed engineers. Projects Since 1990, Prleks has successfully completed over 900 projects, both in Serbia and abroad. Our activities so far encompass an impressive range of undertakings involving government and educational institutions, healthcare centers, commercial buildings, shopping malls, manufacturing facilities, cultural heritage sites, heating plants, hotels, restaurants, sport halls, telecommunication services, and residential buildings. Our dealings can broadly be divided in two segments, one government-related and the other targeting commercial initiatives. Both areas are vital to the ultimate success of the company with many interdependencies at play. OFFICE BUILDINGS “Zil” Office Complex, Moscow, Russia (250,000 m 2) – 2006 Developed main projects for HVAC along with hydro and sewage installations The plaza comprises six multi-storey buildings and two garages. The business area primarily covers office space (mainly open office), while having restaurants and other facilities on ground floor. The installations have been designed according to “shell & core” principles, with full implementation of radiator heating as well. The facilities are heated, cooled and ventilated. The buildings are hooked up to the municipality boiler plant, whereas each facility has its own cooling unit. STATE INSTITUTION The Defense Ministry, Belgrade, Serbia (20,000 m 2) – 2000 Completed the main architectural-construction project and designed HVAC, electro, hydro and sewage installations The objective of the initiative was to rebuld the Defense Ministry building in Belgrade. The facility houses the minister's cabinet, reception halls, offices, a restaurant and technical premises. The premises also include a printing room, garages and several workshops. Prleks helped to completely overhaul the building, while introducing a number of new systems as well. Eneolithic horizons from Vin~a site were scarcely published owing to the fact that both Baden and Kostolac layers are not well stratified because of heavy medieval devastations. In spite of all post-depositional destructions Eneolithic settlements at Vin~a show enormous significance for understanding the life of the period, both on the micro and macro-regional scale. At the same time, this work is a sort of an insight into the results of ongoing analysis of material culture and socio-economic patterns of Eneolithic period settlements in Belgrade and its vicinity. • 10. Daily Urban System of Belgrade Srboljub Stamenković, Dragica Gatarić
GeograFF 8 10. Daily urban system of Belgrade Srboljub Stamenković, Dragica Gatarić The explanation of the dominant characteristics of daily urban system of Belgrade, which represents the main functional knot of the Republic of Serbia by the functional capac- ity as well as by the spatial range of daily interaction of people, capital and information, we have based on studying the spatial-demographic and settlement aspects of daily migrations of labour, pupils and students. Both our and previous experiences in study- ing the phenomenon of daily migrations of the population in Serbia have been based exclusively or in the most of the cases on the field-work researches of daily circulations of people, its territorial framework and structural characteristics. Those researches have mainly local, sub-regional and regional character. As such, they enable the partial study of smaller daily urban systems. The scientific notions on daily urban systems and their function are modest because of that and mostly imbued by ‘whiteness’, if it can be said so. After all, it has been stated for many times in scientific discussions that the existing theoretical and empirical notions on population migrations, and also on daily migrations in geographical studies of the settlement net (Stamenković, 1996), are partial, insufficient and mainly imprecise, as well as that their study is handicapped by the imperfection of the theory (Petrovic, Blagojević, 1989). Moreover, in science, as in the European and world relations (Gottmann,1961; Berry, 1964; Lee, Mc Donald, 2003) so in the scientific researches in Serbia, the significance and the need of studying the phenomena of daily migrations of the population and daily (local) urban systems have been emphasized for many times (Stamenković, 1998; Tošić, Nevenić, 2007).
