[email protected] Revised August 14, 2021

American Ancestors (not to be confused with sister publication American Ancestors Journal) has been published by the New England Historic Genealogical Society from 2010 to date. Its predecessor, which its volume numbering continues and which is also included in this file, was New England Ancestors, published from 2000 to 2009. New England Ancestors succeeded the earlier newsletter (later newsmagazine) of the Society, NEXUS, published from 1983 to 1999, for which I am compiling a separate contents file.

This file lists AA/NEA articles from Volume 1 (2000) to date.

As this file was created for my own use a few words about the format of the entries are in order. As a rule only articles of genealogical or historical interest are included. Most of the regular columns are not included, though some, such as "Pilgrim Life" by Jeremy Dupertuis Bangs, are included because of their content. The entries are listed by AA/NEA volume. Articles that are carried across more than one volume have their parts listed under the applicable volumes. This entry, from Volume 1, will illustrate the format used:

V. 1 (2000)

1 (2000):5/6:11-15 (Cont. to 2:1:17) Murder in Colonial Boston: The Ill-Fated Greenleaf Children and Their Portraits D. Brenton Simons

The first line precedes the set of entries for a volume. It is in boldface to aid the reader in locating a particular volume, and indicates the year that volume was published.

The first line of an entry for an individual article or portion of a series shows the AA/NEA pages for an article found in that volume. When a series spans more than one volume a note in parentheses indicates the volume and page from which or to which it is continued. Note that, since page numbering begins at 1 in each issue, the entry 2:1:17 refers to volume 2, issue number 1, page 17. In volumes 1-9 the last issue is a double issue numbered 5-6, and indicated herein as 5/6.

The second line shows the title of the article, and the third, the author. Columns and some focus articles have the individual portions listed on individual lines below the overall title.

This file will be revised as each new issue of American Ancestors is published. Consolidated Contents of New England Ancestors
