Hooked on !

I am making the second version of my workbench. This is pretty much the same as my first version, but with this version, I will increase the stability. My tabletop is made of Full colored MDF. This is not comparable to standard MDF. It looks most like Valchromat, but this is cheaper. In the Netherlands, this is widely available.

I get a lot of questions for drawings of my workbench. Although I prefer to wait until I finished my workbench, I decide to already upload this drawing because you ask for it. I will continue to complete this plan over time.

I am making a video about the process of building this workbench. Together with this plan, it should be easy to make this workbench.

At this moment, the drawing should give you some information about the dimensions and how I plan to make my tabletop! In the video, I will explain why I choose for some directions.

If you have questions, feel free to ask!

Best regards,

Step 1. Table top! The table top is 1800 mm x 800 mm and made of 18mm black MDF I put 100 mm sides on it. At the front, this is 400 mm deep. 380 380 380 480

Step 2. Table top! At the inside I put 82mm high 18mm against the sides. I made 3 cross bars from 2 x 18 mm plywood glued together. The hight is 82mm At the short sides I put some short crossbars (2 x 18mm) these are 100 long.

Step 3. Table top! I put a 100 mm plywood around the inside of the table top as shown in the picture above.

Step 4. Table top! Finally, I want to ad some timber on an angle of 45 degrees between the underside of the table top and the plywood from step 3. This should increase torsional stiffness and when something will fall in the 20mm holes ad the side of the table, it will fall in the middle.
