Area Summary Wyverstone is a village and civil parish in Mid Suffolk that sits around 7 miles north of Stowmarket. The settlement is split between the three areas of Wyverstone, Wyverstone Street and Wyverstone green. The majority of the housing and community buildings are set along the main road which begins as Westhorpe Road in the east, becomes Rectory Road as it passes through the centre of the parish, and then Wyverstone Road in the west. The village hall and play area can be found in the centre of the village, with the parish church of St George to the east. The site of Bacton Middle School (which closed in 2015) falls within the parish boundary and has since been considered as housing development site. Wyverstone’s more populous neighbour, Bacton, can be found just outside of the parish boundary and provides local access to services including a primary school and post office.
