1868 Bonneau Winery ‘Egret’, Sonoma County ‘17 $29 This wine honors the Great White Egret birds often seen in their vineyards. These magnificent herons were hunted to near extinction in North America during the late 1800’s and early 1900’s for their pure white plumes although have recovered now they are a protected species. Medium-bodied, elegant, smooth, pear custard and a hint of almond and pineapple. Closes with a delightful whisper of oak.

1962 Meerlust Estate, Stellenbosch Chardonnay, South Africa ‘16 $29 Classic in style, grown and produced on the historic Meerlust Estate, owned by the Myburgh Family for eight generations. Appealing nose with pear, citrus and floral notes developing into lemon cream, oatmeal and marzipan richness. On the palate the wine is medium bodied and linear but retains generous focused citrus fruit flavors with sleek, balanced and crisp acidity. The wine remains vivacious and fresh on the finish with clean citrus fruit and stony minerality and long very pleasant lingering finish.

1484 Henri Darnat, La Jumalie, Bourgogne Blanc, France ‘13 $35 This excellent small producer is based in Meursault, although this wine is a blend of from a wider catchment. This means that although there is some richness you would expect, it’s balanced by delicate minerality and floral aromas.

1756 Z’IVO, Pinot Blanc, Eola-Amity Hills, Willamette Valley ‘16 $35 Sharp, racy and precise, this particular clone of Pinot Blanc is a rarity anywhere, especially in Oregon. Brisk apple and white-peach fruit comes with a scent of lemon verbena. The finishing tannins have a grainy expression.

1870 Crosby Roamann, Napa Valley ‘16 $35 With a pale gold color, this single vineyard wine from Handley ranch was fermented in a combination of once used, twice used, and neutral French oak barrels, then aged eight months in oak. 2296 Domaines Schlumberger ‘Les Princes Abbes’ Pinot Noir, Alsace ‘16 $19 This prestigious red grape variety was prominent in Alsace in the middle Ages, and then disappeared, except for certain places where was still appreciated. It is becoming increasingly popular today because of its freshness and fruitiness. The onset in the mouth is moderately ample and oaked with a full-bodied alcohol support. The wine evolves on a slender and fresh medium, marked by a sparkling note. We find the same aromas as on the nose, still dominated by red fruits (cherry, blackcurrant, redcurrant, vineyard peach), flowers (rose) and a fine and delicate.

6009 Ramos Pinto ‘Collector’ Port Reserva NV $16 Unfiltered Port. The initially opaque core develops into a translucent dark red and finishes with an intense red at the bottom of the glass. Its aromatic characteristics are similar to that of the vintage due to the potency of its dominant and dense fruit, revealing incredibly ripe aromas of dried plum, fig, blackberry, raspberry and cherry. Its persistence is noteworthy.
