Yakovlev. Carpenter moths (Lepidoptera: Cossidae) of Russia. SUMMARY. In this article the catalogue of Cossidae of Russia is presented. An annotated list including 32 species has been compiled. Two new species and two new subspecies: Catopta albonubila argunica, ssp. n. (Locus typicus: East Trasbaicalia, Kuenga, 45 km SW. Sretensk), Catopta perunovi, sp. n. (Locus typicus: Russia, Altai Rep., near Ongudai), Cossus cossus dauricus, ssp. n. (Locus typicus: Russia Transbaikalia, Chita Province, Nizhnii Tsasutchei), Phragmataecia pacifica, sp. n. (Locus typicus: Russia, Dagestan, 5 km E. Urma) are described. Besides, a new species from S. Mongolia Catopta saldaitisi, sp. n. (Locus typicus: S. Mongolia, Omnogovi Aimak, the Gobi Altai Mts., Gurvan Sayhan) is described. For each species bibliography and distribution map are given. Проводимая в последние годы работа по исследованию древоточцев (Сossidae) Евразии при- вела к описанию ряда новых таксонов с территории Палеарктики, позволила установить грани- цы распространения многих видов. В данной работе делается попытка представить полный ка- талог древоточцев России, выполненный как на основании анализа литературных данных, так и на большом фактическом материале. Исследованный материал хранится в ряде коллекций Рос- сии, Украины, Германии, Австрии. Приведен аннотированный список видов, включающий дан- ные о первичном описании, синонимии, месте хранения типового материала и распростране- нии. Для редких и малоизвестных видов и для новых таксонов приводятся полные данные эти- кеток. Для каждого вида приведена карта распространения на территории России. -

Among these vertebrates, birds rank first. Insectivorous birds are accepted as active agents in the control of forest and agricultural pests. They protect the natural balance by eating the adults, larvae, pupae and eggs of insects. In this review, we aimed to especially give information about the importance of birds that are effective in protecting against pests of forests within biological control. Key words: Biological control, entomophagous, birds, forest pests Özet: Zararlı böcekler üzerinde omurgalıların baskısı oldukça yüksektir. Bu omurgalılar arasında kuĢlar ilk sırayı almaktadır. Böcekçil kuĢlar, ormanlarda ve tarımda zararlı olan böceklerin mücadelesinde potansiyel etkin etmen olarak kabul görmektedirler. Böceklerin erginlerini, pupalarını, larvalarını ve yumurtalarını yiyerek doğal dengeyi korunmaktadırlar. Bu derlemede özellikle ormanların zararlılara karĢı korunmasında etkili olan kuĢların biyolojik mücadeledeki önemi hakkında bilgiler verilmeye çalıĢılmıĢtır. Anahtar sözcükler: Biyolojik etmen, entomofag kuĢlar, orman zararlıları GiriĢ KuĢlar yüksek oranda enerji tükettiklerinden sık sık beslenmek zorundadırlar. Beslenmeleri için gerekli olan adaptasyonları kuĢların evriminin çarpıcı bir özelliğidir. Bu adaptasyonlar yalnızca beslenirken hareket etmeleri ve besinlerini yakalamaları değil aynı zamanda çok çeĢitli dil yapılarıyla baĢlayan sindirim sistemlerinin tamamının özelleĢmiĢ olmasıdır (Kasarov 1996). KuĢlar diğer omurgalılar gibi diĢlere sahip olmadıkları için gagalarını yalnızca kabuklu tohumların kabuklarını ayırmak için ya da ağızla alınamayacak kadar büyük olan avlarını parçalamak için kullanırlar. Besin gagayla alındıktan sonra ilk olarak proventrikulusta kimyasal enzimlere maruz bırakılır, sonrasında fiziksel sindirim için gizzarda gönderilir ve sindirim olayı gerçekleĢtirilir. -

Müller Abstract The Lebanon and Anti-Lebanon ridges are located in the middle of a narrow “Mediterranean ecozone” corridor stretching along the Levantine coast. Both ridges are high enough to feature a complete range of altitude zones, which includes an alpine tragacanth belt (> 2000 m a.s.l.). The southernmost part of the Anti-Lebanon ridge is situated in the northernmost part of Israel. Among the 548 Israeli Noctuidae species, 106 species (21%) occur only in this small mountainous area. Among them, 17 are endemic and the populations of the remaining 89 species are at the edge of their distribution range. -

Scalercio & S. Greco Abstract In this paper we described the Heterocera fauna of the Calabrian black pine forest in the Sila Massif, southern Italy. We sampled 15 stands at 1270-1446 meters of altitude. One UV-Led light traps per stand was turned on once per month from May to November 2015 and from April to November 2016. We collected 18,827 individuals belonging to 367 species. Thaumetopoea pityocampa (Notodontidae) and Alcis repandata (Geometridae) were the most abundant species. Conifers are the main larval foodplant of 11 species and 4,984 individuals. Particularly interesting was the presence of Eupithecia indigata, discovered in Italy outside the Alps few years ago, abundant in pure Calabrian black pine stands. Primeros registros de Chondrostega vandalicia (Millière, 1865) (Lepidoptera: Lasiocampidae) en la provincia de Málaga (sur de la Península Ibérica) First records of Chondrostega vandalicia (Millière, 1865) (Lepidoptera: Lasiocampidae) in the province of Malaga (south of the Iberian Peninsula) Ángel Martínez García [email protected] RESUMEN: Se aportan, en base a registros fotográficos, las dos primeras localizaciones de Chondrostega vandalicia (Millière, 1865) (Lepidoptera: Lasiocampidae) en la provincia de Málaga. Se trata de la tercera ubicación de este lasiocámpido para Andalucía, lo que extiende el área de distribución meridional de este endemismo ibérico. En la provincia de Málaga la especie se encuentra confinada en dos poblaciones localizadas en las dos áreas montañosas más elevadas, sin contacto aparente entre sí o con las poblaciones más cercanas. PALABRAS CLAVE: Chondrostega vandalicia , Península Ibérica, Málaga, aislamiento. ABSTRACT: The first two sightings of Chondrostega vandalicia (Millière, 1865) (Lepidoptera: Lasiocampidae) in the province of Malaga are provided, based on photographic records. This is the third location of this lasiocampid moth for Andalusia, which extends the south distribution range of this Iberian endemic species. In the province of Malaga the species is confined in two populations located in the two higher mountain areas without any apparent contact with each other or with the nearest populations. KEYWORDS: Chondrostega vandalicia, Iberian Peninsula, Malaga, isolation. Introducción Chondrostega vandalicia (Millière, 1865) (Lepidoptera: Lasiocampidae) es un lasiocámpido de mediano tamaño y hábitos imaginales crepusculares y nocturnos. Tiene una sola generación anual, alimentándose las orugas de diversas gramíneas, pupando en capullos sobre el suelo o enterradas. Los imagos machos vuelan desde finales de julio hasta septiembre, mientras que las hembras son ápteras y por tanto de hábitos exclusivamente terrestres (GÓMEZ DE AIZPÚRUA , 2002; PÉREZ DE GREGORIO et al ., 2001). -
