Me conmovió profundamente escuchar cómo siendo un niño Egranjero en Oklahoma se convirtió en el primer mártir estadounidense en ser proclamado Santo. Stanley Francis Rother nació el 27 de Marzo de 1935 en Okarche, OK. El mayor de cuatro hijos y fue a la Iglesia y escuela Católica de la Santísima Trinidad en Okarche. Como un niño granjero común, hacía sus quehaceres, iba a la escuela, jugaba deportes, era un servidor del altar/monaguillo, y vivía una vida sencilla en su pequeño pueblo. Estudiando la preparatoria, empezó a discernir la posibilidad de una vocación sacerdotal. Primero ingresó al Seminario de la Asunción en San Antonio, TX, pero su camino a la ordenación fue largo pues sus calificaciones eran bajas porque tenía dificultades con el Latín y esto causó que saliera del seminario. Afortunadamente recibió otra oportunidad acudiendo al Seminario del La gente de Santiago Atitlán lloró la pérdida de su Monte de Santa María en Emmitsburg, MD.     SilverKnights of Columbus Rose Prayer Service Booklet Faith in Action Life History of the Silver Rose Our Lady of Guadalupe did so much for her people in Mexico that, in 1960, the Columbian Squires, a youth organization of the Knights of Columbus, wanted to give something back to her. The group of young men in Knights of Columbus Council 2312 in Monterrey, Mexico, came up with the idea of running a rose to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Monterrey, Mexico. The rose was chosen to commemorate Juan Diego and the miracle of the roses, an important part of the story of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The first rose was a natural rose and was blessed by Bishop John C. Cody of London. It was then flown to New York where it was received by Grand Knight Joseph Thomasen, who in turn, took it to Supreme Knight Luke E. Hart. Mr. Hart then shepherded the rose to Dallas, Texas. There, Texas State Deputy Jack Collerin received the rose and took it to Laredo, Texas, where it was finally given to the Squires from Monterrey, Mexico, at the International Bridge in Laredo. They ran the rose from the International Bridge through Sabinas Hidalgo N.L., Mexico, to Cienega de Flores and on to the Basilica in Monterrey, Mexico, on December 12, 1960.     St. Elizabeth of Hungary Feast day: 19 November Stations of a life Elizabeth, landgravine of Thuringia, died in Marburg, over 770 years ago, on 17 November 1231, at the age of 24.     (162/06) San Gioacchino in Prati San Gioacchino in Prati is a late 19th century parish and titular church in the rione Prati. The main entrance is on Via Pompeio Magno just to the east. The Lepanto metro station is close by. Despite its high prestige ("chiesa pontificia") and magnificent architecture, this is not a minor basilica. The dedication is to St Joachim, the father of the Blessed Virgin Mary. History Until the later 19th century, the rione Prati was mostly meadows, but after the annexation of Rome by Italy in 1870 it was quickly developed into a closely-packed suburb. To provide for this three parish churches were to be built, which were San Gioacchino, Santa Maria del Rosario in Prati and Sacro Cuore del Suffragio. The original impetus for building San Gioacchino came from a French priest of Lyons named Antoine Brugidou. He wished to found an international pious sodality for the purpose of reparative adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, in order to make amends for acts of profanation in France and other countries during the French Revolution and afterwards. This Opera Internazionale dell'Adorazione Riparatrice was to have its headquarters in Rome at a new church in Prati, paid for by the faithful of various countries. The church was to be dedicated to St Joachim, in honor of the fiftieth anniversary of the ordination to the priesthood of Pope Leo XIII in 1887. Abbé Brugidou wrote a book about his proposed institute in that year, and in 1890 obtained permission to begin the building project. The pope imposed a maximum limit for the amount of money to be spent, and requested that the church be finished in 1893.

    You are invited to attend a Special Tribute to Our Lady Monday, November 16th at 6:00 pm All parishioners and friends are invited to a “Silver Rose“ prayer service at St. Mary’s on Monday, November 16, 2020 at 6:00 PM. The service is sponsored by the Legion of Mary and Knights of Columbus and will be approximately one hour. There will be a Rosary, liturgical readings, a consecration to Mary and the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Through this service we honor Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Patroness of the Americas, and express both international unity and our dedication to the sanctity of human life. We are honored to be part of a pilgrimage of 8 “Silver Roses” making their way from Canada to the U. S. and Mexico. This is the second time this annual program has come through Delaware. Our Lady of Guadalupe did so much for her people in Mexico that in 1960, a youth organization of the Knights of Columbus wanted to give something back to her. They came up with the idea of running a rose to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Monterrey Mexico. The rose was chosen to commemorate Juan Diego and the miracle of the roses, an important part of the story of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The journey of the silver rose begins each year in March and ends on December 12th, the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. During that time, Silver Roses travel from town to town along routes throughout North America. Several of those routes begin in Canada and end in Mexico.
