For our research, we have chosen some administrative-territorial units of different socio- economical levels of development that are situated in various climatic zones of the Krasnoyarsk Region: the Evenkiya Municipal Region; Minusinsk and the Minusinsk Municipal Region; Achinsk; Divnogorsk; Zheleznogorsk. In order to research the innovative potential of the chosen territories, we have chosen to use the modified TACIS methodology in the given work. The methodology is based upon carriage of working seminars with specialists of the subject, their questioning in a certain sphere and formation of a general indicator (maturity profile) and a certain scheme of analysis of the gained results. Maturity profile estimates the level of administrative-territorial units development in various aspects on the basis of selected factors, which define the development of the territory. Proceeding from the set task, the following eight factors have been defined: four of them characterize the resources and four rest characterize organizational structures and technologies. Its results are presented as a diagram, which visually illustrates relative levels of various activity spheres’ development. The form of the diagram also gives us an opportunity to compare the correlation between the levels of factors development of a separate territory and other administrative-territorial units. According to the results of the carried research of the selected territories, we have worked out the following practical recommendations concerning their innovative climate improvement. The next point of the excursion is the park Bobrovy log. In the park you will have a chance to discover a beautiful view on the nature reserve Stolby (Takmak rock) going uphill by the ropeway to an observation point overlooking the magnificent views of the city and surroundings. MEADE US Geological Survey, MS 413, Box 25046, Denver, Colorado 80225, USA Abstract The northward-flowing rivers of Siberia deliver immense quantities of water but only relatively small quantities of sediment to the Arctic Ocean. The relatively low delivery of sediment to the ocean by these rivers is explained by the large areas of forest and swamp in their basins. In the Ob’ River, sediment yields tend to increase between the headwaters and Kamen’ na Obi. Further downstream, sediment yields gradually decrease. Near the mouth of the Ob’ River, at Salekhard, sedi­ ment yield has remained constant at about 5.3 t km-2 year'1. In the lower Yenisey River, the already small natural sediment yield of 5.41 km'2 year'1 has been decreased several fold by the construction of massive reservoirs on the main stem and on the tributary Angara River, and presently equals 1.8 t km'2 year"1. INTRODUCTION Intensive collection of sediment data in the rivers of the Soviet Union (including Siberia) began during 1935-1938. The stations where sediment discharge is measured presently number about 240 in the Ob’ River basin and about 220 in the Yenisey River basin. The rivers are divisible into three parts: the upper reaches where suspended sediment is mobilized; the middle reaches where sediment is transported, deposited, and re­ mobilized downstream; and the lower reaches where sediment accumulates (Polyakov, 1935; Lopatin, 1939; 1952; Shamov, 1954).

Lukashov2,3 Abstract To study the molecular epidemiology of HIV-1 in Krasnoyarsk region, Russia, where HIV-1 has spread rapidly since 2000, we obtained pol sequences from individuals living in this region (n ¼ 67) as well as in the geo- graphically closely related Altay region (n ¼ 13). In both regions, subtype A viruses specific for the former Soviet Union (IDU-A strains) were dominant (92.5%). Virus sequences clustered according to the geographic origin of the infected individuals rather than to their risk group, demonstrating the role of geographically defined epi- demiological networks in the propagation of the HIV-1 epidemic in the region. Six viruses belonged to subtype B. Three of them were phylogenetically (and therefore epidemiologically) closely related to each other, dem- onstrating that even though IDU-A viruses dominate the epidemic, the spread of other virus strains does occur. Most viruses (75%) had an A62V mutation in reverse transcriptase, specific for HIV-1 strains in Russia. Although these river basins are geographically distinct from one another, they will be treated together in this guide for the sake of convenience. The region surrounding the Yenisei River Basin is of critical economic importance to the Russian Federation. Torotenkova Federal Service for Surveillance over Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-being in the Krasnoyarsk Region, 21 Karatanova St., Krasnoyarsk, 660049, Russian Federation The article deals with hygienic assessment of water sources quality for the centralized drinking water supply for resi- dential use in Krasnoyarsk region. The authors have detected violation of hygienic standards, as per such parameters as iron (iron content at the level of 1.8 mg/dm3 or 6MPC has been fixed); fluorine (up to 6MPC); ammonia and ammonium nitrogen (up to 2MPC), nitrates (up to 5MPC); organochlorine compounds (chloroform, carbon tetrachloride – up to 5MPC), manga- nese (up to 5.5MPC), aluminum (up to 2MPC). Such carcinogenic impurities, as benz(a)pyrene, cadmium, arsenic, nickel and lead were detected in water in high concentrations. It’s been found that total lifetime carcinogenic health risk for the cities and districts residents in Krasnoyarsk region, due to carcinogenic chemicals ingestion with drinking water, in 22 areas is being assessed as negligible, and doesn’t require an additional mitigation measures. In 23 areas carcinogenic risk ranges within 1.0e-6 – 1.0e-5, which corresponds to criteria for risk acceptance. In 9 areas (Borodino, Lesosibirsk towns, Yeniseisk, Kazachinskiy, Partisanskiy, Pirovskiy, Rybinskiy, Sayanskiy, Uyarskiy districts) the determined lifetime individual carcino- genic risk level ranges between 1.0e-5 to 2.0e-4, which is inacceptable for the population in general.
