For us, a bottle of bubbles is a worthy celebration for a new job, a birthday, or a simple weeknight get together with good friends. Our Greek selections honor that celebration using techniques from around the world, at a world-class level. And while our selection of sparkling Greek wines gets us pretty excited, we admit there’s also nothing like a good bottle of traditional Champagne. 6 7 212C: AKRA CHRYSSOS Assyrtiko, Athiri, Aidani - PDO Santorini 2018 115 210C: CANVA CHRISSOU TESELEPOS Assyrtiko - PDO Santorini 2018 165 224: DOMAINE SIGALAS Assyrtiko - PDO Santorini 2020 110 225: DOMAINE SIGALAS “BARREL FERMENTED” Assyrtiko - PDO Santorini 2018 130 233: HATZIDAKIS Aidani - PGI Cyclades 2015 75 207C: HATZIDAKIS Aidani - PGI Cyclades 2017 115 230: HATZIDAKIS Assyrtiko - PDO Santorini 2017 80 244: HATZIDAKIS “ASSYRTIKO DE LOUROS” Assyrtiko - PDO Santorini 2016 245 242: HATZIDAKIS “CUVEE NO. 15” Assyrtiko - PDO Santorini 2018 130 231: HATZIDAKIS “FAMILIA” Assyrtiko - PDO Santorini 2018 115 209C: HATZIDAKIS “NYKTERI” Assyrtiko - PDO Santorini 2017 146 232: HATZIDAKIS “SKITALI” Assyrtiko - PDO Santorini 2017 145 There are few wines in the world as idiosyncratic as the wines of Santorini. Macedonia provides an ideal climate for growing many varieties, including international favorites such as Cabernet Sauvignon. Undoubtedly, our favorite comes from the rolling hills of Naoussa and its native grape Xinomavro, inspiring similarities to that of Italy’s legendary Barolo. Pro-tip: a bottle of Tatsis “Old Roots” is not to be missed with any of our lamb dishes. 18 19 524: DOMAINE HARLAFTIS Cabernet Sauvignon - 2016 55 514: GAI’A WINES ”MONOGRAPH”Agiorgitiko - 2019 40 517: KTIMA DRIOPI Agiorgitiko - PDO Nemea 2017 75 505: PARPAROUSSIS WINERY “OENOFILOS”Agiorgitiko, etc - PGI Peloponnese 2017 88 527: PARPAROUSSIS WINERY RESERVE Agiorgitiko - PGI Peloponnese 2014 130 531: SKOURAS “GRAND CUVEE”Agiorgitiko - PDO Nemea 2016 89 528: SKOURAS “MEGAS OENOS” Agiorgitiko, Cabernet Sauvignon - PGI Peloponnese 2016 82 512: SKOURAS “MEGAS OENOS” Agiorgitiko, Cabernet Sauvignon - PGI Peloponnese 2004 155 507: SKOURAS “SAINT GEORGE”Agiorgitiko - PDO Nemea 2018 45 525: TROUPIS WINERY “FTERI” Agiorgitiko - PGI Peloponnese 2018 52 529: ZOE Agiorgitiko, etc - PGI Peloponnese 2019 40 It almost feels ironic that Agiorgitiko, arguably Greece’s most powerful and intense native variety, finds its home in the same region as the mighty city-state of Sparta. Agiorgtiko finds its throne in the appellation of Nemea, where it is either bottled on its own or with international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon to produce luscious red blends. We would be remiss if we didn’t highlight any of the wines from Skouras, one of the region’s pioneers and a favorite of the team at Andros Taverna.
