These relations definitely developed, and the subject of our research puts forward the evidence needed to support the fact that both the Transylvanian Romanians and the Spanish people were interested in one another through all ages. The frequency and degree of intensity of these contacts may not be comparable but they do illustrate that both Transylvania and Spain participated in the European „cultural traffic” despite their location at the two European extremities. Our research started with the fact that the Romanian and even the Hungarian and Transylvanian Saxon historiography have never carried out analyses about the systematic presence of the old Spanish books in the Transylvanian Romanian libraries.
