The progress and the develop work achieved by Prosalud on this period can be summarized as: Contact with students of health careers (obstetrics, nursing, psychology and medicine) from 3 universities of Santiago (Universidad de Chile, Universidad de Santiago and Universidad Mayor) to invite them to participate in a workshop for volunteer monitors. Conducting a 2 days training workshop on Sexuality Prevention, with the participation of 15 young university students. Contact with health authorities of the 3 districts proposed in the project (La Pintana, San Ramon and El Bosque) to perform the information and education activities about sexual and reproductive health among young people aged 14-24 years. Of these districts, only got response from La Pintana, for this reason we decided to contact other districts that also have high rates of teenage pregnancy. One of the districts contacted who was interested in the proposal was La Florida. We performed activities in 10 districts, 9 in Metropolitan region and 1 in Valparaiso region. Planning, coordination and implementation of the Tables Travelling Information (TTIs). Development and printing information, education and communication materials (IEC) about 8 topics (sexual and reproductive rights, sexually transmitted infections, HIV and Aids, contraceptive methods, correct use of condom, emergency contraception, violence against women and sexual diversity) and calendars on dual protection and responsible sexuality. In addition, 2 brochures were produced in a larger format with information about contraception methods and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). It was requested a donation of condoms and printed materials about STIs, HIV and correct use of condom to the Centro Regional de Informacion y Apoyo para la Prevención Social del VIH/Sida (CRIAPS) 1. Creation of Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) like Facebook, Twitter, Wordpress blog and sent information and news on sexual and reproductive health and rights topics by these ICTs and by electronic bulletins by webpage. The most ICT used by young people was Facebook with 2.418 friends and Webpage, reason we informed in this report only about those. 1 Regional Center for Information and Social Support for the Prevention of HIV/Aids 4 When did your project started The activities proposed in the project started in July 2009. During July we made contact with the university students and with the districts authorities. From August 2009 until May 2010 we performed the activities proposed in the project. In July was performed the workshop for young volunteers. During September it was performed a smaller number of TTIs because we identify and contact other districts that have high rates of teenage pregnancy. In February 2010, we were in vacation and in March we didn’t performed activities because the schools and universities were closed for the earthquake occurred in February in Chile. Since the budget was less than requested, we decided to carried out one workshop for young people, reduce the number of the young people who will be serve by the project from 5.000 to 3.500 and does not include promotional products (key rings, pins and bracelets) in the activities. 6.418 young people were involved in our activities during 9 months (from august 2009 to May 2010). We couldn´t included all of them on the register because we couldn’t get the necessary information (sex and age) in all the activities or some of the participants had less age than 14 or more than 24 years old. How was the progress towards the listed objectives The progress of the listed objectives was explain in the first part of the inform and in detail it is in the results part. Did you have any problems. If so, did it affect the outcomes We had some problems, but it didn´t affected the development and results of the projects. The problems were: We couldn´t obtain response from 2 of the 3 health and education district´s programs proposed in the project. For these reason, we decided to include other 2 districts that also have high rates of teenage pregnancy. We performed activities in 10 districts in total. We couldn’t registered the age and sex of all young people who participated in the TTIs activities, given the massive nature of these (campus university, streets). 5 What results to date, expected/unexpected From July 2009 to May 2010, Prosalud achieved to following results: Table 1.
