While some claim that time changes things, in reality it is us who must change. Here, we like to lead rather than follow, to set the trends and to create the change. As such, we are proud to announce a name change to HAPA Group Sdn. Bhd. to surge us forward. The name change comes as we celebrate 25 years of serving the industry and I am proud that we have been able to do this and to be recognised as a leader in all various facets of our operations. For a quarter of a century we have provided the latest news, introduced the personalities of hospitality (both front and back-of-house), provided updates on hotels, restaurants and spas as well as recognise industry leaders through the various HAPA Awards. We plan to continue doing this well into the future but recognise that times are changing. Technological advances have changed hospitality and publishing, and while we have been conscious of adopting digital platforms, we have loyal readers who appreciate reading Hospitality Asia in print form. Our loyal advertisers also like the long shelf life of the magazine, which continues to be read way beyond its publication. However, we will soon be moving on to the digital platform. Under our new company structure, HAPA Group Sdn Bhd, there are four business divisions – HAPA Media (e-Magazine, travel guide and TV), HAPA Awards (awards and audits), HAPA Events (events and catering), HAPA Academy (training and e-learning) and a dining club, No Address Society. While you are reading all about the successful HAPA Malaysia Awards 2018-2020 Series, staged at the New World Petaling Jaya Hotel, our team is already preparing for the HAPA Regional Awards 2020-2022 Series. We anticipate many entries from within the region for what are known as the ‘Oscars of Hospitality’. Apart from improving service standards via our recognition awards programme, we also created a mindset training programme, to inspire the workforce to further drive and motivate themselves to walk the extra mile. Please enjoy our latest edition of Hospitality Asia with up- to-date information about hospitality, food and beverage, and the tourism industry.
