Each has contributed in some way to my work and to enrich my life. I am grateful to all of them. First and foremost, this research was not possible without the generosity of the people of Belize. A person’s language is a precious part of his or her identity. To be allowed to participate in the conversion of that language from an oral medium to a written form is a great honor.
