The team from Stride Tregowan Architects have completed their design proposal following a 6 week-period of meetings with the trust and contractors (Bowman Kirkland) have been formally appointed. The project involves the refurbishment of an attractive listed building as well as the building of a high spec classroom block and sports hall. The design has met with approval from the school governing body and has been presented to local residents and to Ealing Fields parents. A public meeting showcasing the proposal will take place on Wednesday 28th March 2018 from 4pm – 8pm as part of the consultation process. It is hoped that the refurbished building will be a considerable asset to the community as well as to the school. Current estimations indicate that the project will be completed by the summer term of 2020. In the interim plans are moving forward for the relocation of an additional classroom block onto the current temporary site in readiness for the new year 7 intake. The Ealing Trailfinders rugby coaches have been so impressed they invited our students to a training evening at their home ground, which highlighted some promising future rugby players! The year 8 team narrowly lost out to Elthorne Park High School and Cardinal Wiseman High School after Savvanidid, Best and Hamilton all scored tries. The year 7’s played their first match and it was an epic contest with Elthorne Park. Bremang and Clarke starred in a 55-40 loss. Lots of potential for the future on display! A number of students attended the PTSA rugby day and entertained the crowds with some exciting rugby, before watching Ireland’s grand slam confirmation in the school hall. ‘The Freshers’ and ‘The Majestic Penguins’ both ending with the highest points tally! Hip Hop Dance A group of keen dancers took part in a hip hop dance course, which was delivered by a dance teacher from Society Dance Group. They learned new hip hop moves as well as learning a choreographed dance to Bruno Mars’ Finesse. This dance routine was then performed to create a music video! Netball Season As the netball season draws to a close we can reflect on some fantastic performances from our year 7 and 8 teams as well as our B and C teams.
