All 20 public transport companies operating in the town and the region are collaborating in the integrated net- work system Regio-Verkehrsbund Freiburg (RVF). In the urban area alone, Freiburg’s Transit Authority (VAG) runs fi ve municipal tram lines and 20 bus routes as a comfortable and inexpensive means for customers to arrive at their travel destination. The RVF-area is divided in three zones or fare stages. More information about the division into zones is available at www.rvf.de/RVF-Gebiet.php. Our tip: REGIO24 Full 24 hours cross-town travel on busses and trains throughout the tariff zone after punching one’s ticket. REGIO 24 is the ideal ticket for family or school excursions or a great shopping tour. 1 Person (+ 4 children up to 14 years) Fare stage 1: € 6.00 whole RVF-zone: € 12.00 5 Persons (any age) Fare stage 1: € 12.00 whole RVF-zone: € 24.00 REGIO24 is available at ticket machines, ticket offi ces and in vehicles. Group ticket: min 10 persons For groups of 10 people or more, the group ticket can be used for one-way travel in the direction of your destination inclu- ding breaks and line changes. Student group ticket: Including teachers The student group travel ticket is especially recommended for school students. It is a combined ticket valid for three days, offered jointly by the VAG and Schauinsland cable car together with the RVF (Freiburg regional transport association). Adult: whole RVF-zone: € 25.00 Child (6-14 years): whole RVF-zone: € 15.00 The WelcomeKarte is available at the VAG service centre, the Tourist Information Freiburg or SBG service centre at the central bus station. The registration of 20 passen- gers or more is recommended seven days before departure, at the latest, when traveling with the regional rail system (Deut- sche Bahn, Südwestdeutsche Verkehrs AG, Breisgau-S-Bahn). As a rule, the transport companies can only carry groups within the scope of their scheduled capacities. Transport schedule preferences cannot always be considered, especially not during rush hours.
