當提到古代地中海及中東地區，各樣的宮殿、花園及城牆的古蹟遺址便浮現眼前。這些地方曾有富有的統治階級，充滿着諸如金屬器物、石浮雕、象牙、寶石與珠寶等珍貴的奢侈品。這類奢侈品在公元前900至前300年間從遠至印度製造，並遠銷至地中海地區。精英階層隨着強盛的亞述、巴比倫及阿契美尼德帝國而出現，他們需要富異國風情、奢侈及華麗的物品去彰顯他們的社會地位。與此同時，版權為香港歷史博物館所有廉價的奢侈品仿製品亦應運而生。阿契美尼德帝國的財富對亞歷山大大帝來說是無可抗拒的征服目© 2018 標，他空前絕後的軍事勝利意味着他的版圖最終由希臘橫越至印度，而希臘的藝術與文化亦因此遍及中東地區。 © 2018 Hong Kong Museum是次展覽由大英博物館最新籌備，並以香港為首站展出210多套展品，讓觀眾認識公元前900至前 of History 300年的「奢華世代」。

Hong Kong’s economy took flight in the 1960s and 1970s, and flourishing industries gave rise to entertainment of all sorts. Following the launch of Television Broadcasts Limited in 1967 and the introduction of colour television in 1971, television culture became an indispensable part of people’s lives. 堡壘大堂 Public Programmes 海防風雲六百年 Redoubt Courtyard

600 Years of Hong Kong’s Coastal Defence 每節25人 (10歲以下兒童需家長陪同協助) / 活動開始前 15分鐘在堡壘大堂接受報名 / 費用全免常設展以香港海岸防衛歷史為題，闡述香港自 25 persons per session (accompanied by parent 明清、英治時期、抗日戰爭以至回歸以後的海 is required for children below 10) / Registration 防歷史。而堡壘外舊有的軍事設施，經修復後 starts on the spot 15 minutes before the activities 開闢成古蹟徑供遊人參觀。 commence / Participation is free.
