With PlayNow™ arena you can download a variety of content to your mobile phone or MP3 player. You can preview or listen to music and ringtones before you purchase and download the content to your device. You can choose between different payment methods. You can purchase content from PlayNow™ arena as an unregistered user with limited access. Register a PlayNow™ arena account to get full access.

PlayNow™ arena account When you register a PlayNow™ arena account you get the following additional features: • Music purchase rights in the PlayNow™ arena web store. • Credit card as a payment option. This feature may not be available in all markets. • Access to your downloads both from your phone and from your computer. • Purchase and download history. • Album purchase rights using a credit card. • Dual downloads (download to both your phone and your computer without any additional cost). • The possibility to see and purchase your latest TrackID™ search results (if tracks are available in the store). • A shopping basket in the PlayNow™ arena web store.

Once you have created a PlayNow™ arena account, you can use the same username and password for both the mobile store and the web store. If you already have a Ericsson account from Fun & Downloads, you can use the same username and password for the PlayNow™ arena account.

Before using PlayNow™ arena PlayNow™ arena is referred to as PlayNow™ arena mobile store when used from a mobile phone and PlayNow™ arena web store when used from a computer. PlayNow™ arena is not available in all countries or on all networks. You may have to register as an Internet user with your service provider or network operator. Before you start, check that: • You have free memory in your device.. • You have a phone subscription that supports EDGE/UMTS or GPRS data transmission. • You have a Flash player and Java installed on your computer in order to access the PlayNow™ arena web store.

Using the PlayNow arena mobile store

The PlayNow™ arena mobile store is used and accessed from your mobile phone. If you experience any problems when you purchase or download content, please contact your local Sony Ericsson Contact Center.

To enter the PlayNow™ arena mobile store • Select Menu > PlayNow™ or go to m.playnow-arena.com from the web browser in your phone.

Using a PlayNow™ arena account

To register an account from your phone 1 Select Menu > PlayNow™. 2 Select Register and follow the instructions that appear on your screen.

To purchase content from your phone with a credit card 1 Go to PlayNow™ arena. 2 Select Login. 3 Enter your email address (user name) and password, and select Login. 4 Browse for content. 5 Scroll to the content you want and select Buy. 6 Scroll to and select with a credit card. 7 Enter your credit card details and select Purchase. 8 The content is saved in My downloads. To download the content, select Download.

To purchase content to your phone with Premium SMS 1 Select Menu > PlayNow™. 2 Select Login. 3 Enter your email address (user name) and password, and select Login. 4 Browse for content. 5 If you want to listen to music before buying it, select Play. 6 Select the content you want, and select Buy. 7 Select with SMS and confirm with Yes. The content is saved in File manager on your phone.

To edit your account from your phone 1 Select Menu > PlayNow™. 2 Select Log in. 3 Enter your email address (user name) and password, and select Login. 4 Scroll to and select My account. 5 Edit your account and select Done. 6 Select Home to browse for content.

To delete your account from your phone 1 Select Menu > PlayNow™. 2 Select Login. 3 Enter your email address (user name) and password, and select Login. 4 Scroll to and select My account. 5 Select Delete account twice to delete your PlayNow™ arena account. Other Sony Ericsson accounts are not deleted.

To access your purchase history from your phone 1 Select Menu > PlayNow™. 2 Select Login. 3 Enter your email address (user name) and password, and select Login. 4 Scroll to and select My account. 5 Scroll down to Purchase- and download history and select More.

My downloads on the mobile store If you request free content from the PlayNow™ arena web store or if you purchase with a credit card, the content is saved in My downloads. You need to create a PlayNow™ arena account to access My downloads. With an account you can access My downloads both from your phone (PlayNow™ arena mobile store) and from the computer (PlayNow™ arena web store). Nonmusic content can only be downloaded from PlayNow™ arena mobile store.

To download content to your phone 1 Select Menu > PlayNow™. 2 Select Login. 3 Enter your email address (user name) and password, and select Login. 4 Select My downloads. Confirm with Yes. 5 Scroll to the content you want to download and select Download. The content is saved in File manager on your phone.

Search functions

Quick search You can use the quick search to find different types of content containing your search criteria.

To use the quick search 1 Select Menu > PlayNow™. 2 Scroll down to and select the search field. 3 Select Edit. 4 Enter the search string in the search field and select OK. 5 Select the Search item.

Advanced search You can use the advanced search to find more detailed information.

To use advanced search 1 Select Menu > PlayNow™. 2 Scroll to and select Advanced search. 3 Select a category and enter the search criteria. 4 Select Search.

TrackID™ TrackID™ is a music recognition service that gives you the name and artist of a track you hear playing in your surroundings. Simply record a small sample of the song and get all the details within a matter of seconds. You can use the service on tracks playing on your mobile phone radio or on a radio in your surroundings. You can also buy the identified track from PlayNow™ arena, directly from the TrackID™ application.

For cost information please contact your service provider.

In some customized phones, the PlayNow™ arena link in TrackID™ is replaced by the services provider’s own music store link.

To search for track information when you hear a track through a loudspeaker • Select Menu > Entertainment > TrackID™ > Start.

To search for track information when you hear a track on the radio • When the radio is playing, select Options > TrackID™.

Using the PlayNow™ arena web store

To enter the PlayNow™ arena web store • Go to www.playnow-arena.com.

To initiate a purchase with Premium SMS from your computer 1 Go to www.playnow-arena.com. 2 Select Go to Store. 3 Select your location and your language. 4 Select Continue. 5 Select the content by clicking the title. 6 Select Send a link to my mobile. 7 Enter the numbers that appear and your phone number. 8 Select Send. A premium SMS (text message) is sent to your phone. 9 Phone: Select View to open the SMS. 10 Open the web address that appears. 11 Scroll to the content and select Buy. 12 Scroll to and select with SMS. 13 Select Yes to download the file. The content is saved in File manager on your phone.

Using a PlayNow™ arena account

Check that you select the correct device when you register your account. PlayNow™ arena web store will then filter the content suitable for your device.

To register an account from your computer 1 Go to www.playnow-arena.com. 2 Select Go to Store. 3 Select your location and your language. 4 Select Continue. 5 Select Register and follow the instructions that appear.

To purchase content from your computer with a credit card 1 Go to www.playnow-arena.com. 2 Select Go to Store. 3 Select your location and your language. 4 Select Continue. 5 Enter your email address (user name) and password, and select Login. 6 Browse for content. 7 Scroll to the content you want and select Buy by clicking on the price tag. 8 Enter your account password and select Login. 9 Enter your credit card details and select Purchase. 10 If you want to save the content in My downloads, select Close. To download the content to the computer, select Proceed to download.

Other Sony Ericsson accounts are not deleted.

To access your purchase history from your computer 1 Go to www.playnow-arena.com. 2 Select Go to Store. 3 Select your location and your language. 4 Select Continue. 5 Enter your email address (user name) and password, and select Login. 6 Select My account. 7 Select Account history to view the content you have downloaded

My downloads on the web store If you request free content from the PlayNow™ arena web store or if you purchase with a credit card, the content is saved in My downloads. You need to create a PlayNow™ arena account to access My downloads. With an account you can access My downloads both from your phone (PlayNow™ arena mobile store) and from the computer (PlayNow™ arena web store). Nonmusic content can only be downloaded from PlayNow™ arena mobile store.

To download content to your computer 1 Go to www.playnow-arena.com. 2 Select Go to store. 3 Select your location and your language. 4 Select Continue. 5 Enter your email address (user name) and password, and select Login. 6 Select My downloads. A window appears with your purchased content. 7 Select Choose location and select a folder where you want to save your content. 8 If you want to download a specific content, select Download or select Download all to download all content in My downloads. The content is saved on your computer.

A window appears with your purchased content. 7 Select Send. 8 Enter the numbers that appear and enter your phone number. 9 Select Send link. An SMS (text message) is sent to your phone. 10 Phone: Select View to open the SMS. 11 Open the web address that appears to enter My downloads from your phone. 12 Scroll to the content you want to download and select Download. The content is saved in File manager on your phone.

Shopping basket If you want to buy several items at the same time, you can use the shopping basket. To use the shopping basket, you need a PlayNow™ arena account and a registered credit card.

To use the shopping basket 1 Go to www.playnow-arena.com. 2 Select Go to Store. 3 Select your location and your language. 4 Select Continue. 5 Enter your email address (user name) and password, and select Login. 6 When an item interests you, select Add to shopping basket (the shopping basket icon next to the item) to add the item to the shopping basket. 7 To purchase the items in the shopping basket, select the shopping basket icon in the toolbar at the top of the page. 8 Select Buy. 9 Enter your credit card details and select Purchase. All items are saved in My downloads, accessible both from your phone and from the computer.

Search functions

Quick search You can use the quick search to find different types of content containing your search criteria.

To use the quick search 1 Go to www.playnow-arena.com. 2 Select Go to store. 3 Select your location and your language. 4 Select Continue. 5 Enter a search string in the search field and select Search. 6 To filter the search results, select a heading such as Title, Artist or Album.

Advanced search You can use the advanced search to find more detailed information. You can search for a combination of Song/Title and Artist/Publisher within each category. Album is also provided as an option when searching the music category.

Artists A-Z You can use this function to search for artists in alphabetical order.

To search for artists in alphabetical order 1 Go to www.playnow-arena.com. 2 Select Go to Store. 3 Select Advanced search and select Music. 4 Select Filter and select a category. 5 Select Artists A-Z (in the top right corner) and select a letter. 6 To filter the search results, select a heading such as Title, Artist or Album.

PlayNow™ uncut PlayNow™ uncut is a promotional site for introducing new and emerging artists. It showcases a selection of previously unreleased tracks, videos, artwork, interviews, tour dates and other artist information on PlayNow™ arena. The highest rated and most listened to tracks in PlayNow™ uncut are available for sale in the music section of the PlayNow™ arena web store.

To enter PlayNow™ uncut • Go to www.playnow-uncut.com.

Required browsers and operating systems You need one of the following browsers and operating systems to purchase and download from the Playnow™ arena web store: • Microsoft® Internet Explorer® 7.0 with Microsoft® Windows® XP (SP2 or higher) or Microsoft® Windows Vista™ • Microsoft® Internet Explorer® 6.0 with Microsoft® Windows® XP (SP2 or higher) • Mozilla Firefox 2.0 or later with Microsoft® Windows® XP (SP2 or higher), Microsoft® Windows Vista™ or Mac OS X 10.4 or later • Safari™ 3.1or later with Mac OS X 10.4 or later

The Playnow™ arena web store supports other browsers, but purchases and downloads are not supported for these browsers.

There are two payment options in the PlayNow™ arena, premium SMS and credit card. Additional operator costs may apply to some purchases.

Premium SMS A premium SMS is a text message which incurs a charge beyond that of a standard SMS (text message). Operators invoice you for premium SMS on their monthly bill or deduct the amount automatically from your prepaid account.

Credit card Credit card is a payment option which allows you to pay with your credit card. The credit card option works in the same way in both the mobile store and the web store. If you purchase music with a credit card, it is saved in My downloads, accessible both from your phone and from the computer. To use credit card as a payment option you need a PlayNow™ arena account.

Transferring music from your computer

You can use a USB cable and Sony Ericsson ™ to transfer music between your device and a computer. Content offering

Music The PlayNow™ arena music catalogue includes over 6 million licensed songs from leading major and independent record labels.

Games PlayNow™ arena offers more than 200 games per mobile phone model. Sony Ericsson has a well established partnership with all major game publishers. Games are phone specific.

Applications PlayNow™ arena offers a wide range of mobile applications per mobile phone model. The content offering covers application categories such as navigation, travel and education. Applications are phone specific.

Themes and wallpapers PlayNow™ arena offers up to 150 themes and 150 wallpapers per mobile phone model from leading providers and designers. The themes and wallpapers are optimized for Sony Ericsson mobile phones. Themes and wallpapers are phone specific.

Ringtones PlayNow™ arena features one of the broadest ringtone offerings of mastertones and funtones. Ringtones are provided by major record labels and leading mobile content providers.

Free content A large selection of free games, applications, wallpapers, themes and ringtones. Free music can also be available from time to time in conjunction with promotional campaigns. Please note that the free selection might differ between countries and between devices.

Copyright protected content Some content on PlayNow™ arena is copyright protected by DRM (Digital Rights Management). DRM is used to limit the distribution of digital media (audio, music tones, video clips, Java™ applications and so on). By DRM protecting a file, it is possible to limit the number of devices the file can be transferred to. • All content downloaded to your phone is DRM protected and will be locked if transferred to other devices. • Music downloaded to your computer is not DRM protected and may be transferred to play on other MP3 compatible devices that you own.

Music formats Music dowloaded to a computer is delivered in high quality MP3 format. Music downloaded to a mobile phone is delivered in AAC+ format (audio compression format).
