ABOUT THE SHOW

Northwest Bookshelf pairs two stories Pacific Northwest authors in a digital presentation featuring motion graphics from the books’ original illustrations and a delightful musical radio play. Your students will take a musical journey, meet zany characters, explore the world from new points of view, and discover the richness of the Pacific Northwest and its stories.

In the Fall of 2021, Baseball Saved Us will also be made available as a Digital Presentation, with a mix of motion action graphics of book illustrations AND historical archives. ​Based on the award-winning children’s book by author Ken Mochizuki, Baseball Saved Us follows the journey of young Shiro who, along with his family, is incarcerated in a Japanese internment camp. As Shiro struggles to learn how to play baseball on the hot dusty fields, he learns more than just the game—he learns how to survive.
