Welcome to Hutt Park. Another season rolls around and with it ends the busiest time of the year for all involved ‘behind the scenes’ at Stop Out. Our focus continues to be on our ’Football for All’ philosophy and in 2016 our Senior numbers are consistent with 5 Men’s teams, 3 Masters and 3 Women’s teams. And proudly we are the only club in the Wellington region with Women’s and Men’s Central League teams—and no Wellington United with their Nix influence , do not count as a Men’s Central League club. There has been significant growth in our junior ranks. Playing numbers are one thing, however we are putting a greater focus on the player experience of our youngsters and development of our junior coaches to foster a culture second to none in the region. -

MATCH DAY PROGRAM 19 August 2017
MATCH DAY PROGRAM 19th August 2017 Photo courtesy of AT Photo UPPER HUTT CITY VS WELLINGTON UNITED MAIDSTONE PARK - KO 1:00 PM A message from Gibby . We’ve managed 3 games in 11 days which has been a tough ask for this end of the season, but what an 11 days! First up we had PNM in the Knockout Cup Quarter Final. Leading up to this game we’d won a game apiece, and drawn 1-1 so it was always going to be a tight game. These games are always tough physical battles and this was no exception. Both teams were throwing everything they had into it, which was reflected in the half time score of 0-0. The second 45 was just as tough as the first, and we managed to get on the score sheet when PNM gave the ball away in their defensive third and Lena de Ronde capitalised by driving a cross into the 6 yard box and Emma Main nipped in front of her defender to tuck the ball away. 1-0. PNM are the sort of team that never gives up, and they struck back after a ball over the top was picked up by their striker and they slotted the ball into the far post tying the game up 1-1. Cup matches need a result, and so into extra time we went. Both teams were showing the effects of a long hard tussle, but through sheer grit and determination we pushed forward, and sent a cross into the box for Lena de Ronde to pop up at the far post driving the ball into the net to take us 2-1 up. -

The First Word My blood is red… and gold! It’s an exciting time for the Stop Out club… For the first time in our club’s history, our Women’s first team are champions of Capital Premier after an extraordinarily successful season. We have extended articles in this issue to celebrate the achievement. Fantastic result and next year? Well who knows. And our Men’s Capital Premier team have quietly moved up the table after the losing their first two games! Scoring goals wins games but with nine clean sheets already this year, Vinny and his back four are doing a fine job of halting opposing teams, but make no mistake our visitors today can score goals! Wellington United are still in the hunt for the title. As one of the pre-season league favourites “Diamonds” are sitting just in behind us in the table, and have a game in hand. -

Box 75 122 War Memorial Park Manurewa Gibbs Rd Auckland Manurewa Phone: (09) 267 1120 I missed last week’s game against Birkenhead but kept in touch by the marvels of texting and phone calls. By all accounts a great improvement. Please to see we were able to hold for 50 minutes. We will have to continue this form against today’s opponents Onehunga Sports who come to us with 2 wins a draw and one loss. Lets hope with the support from the grandstand we can bring in our first points. To Gordon, Steve and Anja keep up the good work with the reserve team. Great to see the improvement and results your team is achieving after the struggle of the last few years. To the ladies team I am looking forward to tonight’s social. Those of you who haven’t got tickets, ask the ladies. The socials are very memorable. The club raffle is our main means of fundraising. It will be out shortly. Look out for the tickets. Again this year we have great support from our sponsors and our members working to make it happen. Top prize is a 60 inch television. See you on the sideline. Come and have a chat. I’m always willing to listen and chew over any new ideas for improvement. To all other club players and members young and old, enjoy your day. Be there for the club draw. Vs Birkenhead United LOTTO NRFL Premier 1 April 2017 3.00pm Manurewa AFC Club Rooms P.O. Box 75 122 War Memorial Park Manurewa Gibbs Rd Auckland Manurewa Phone: (09) 267 1120 www.manurewaafc.org.nz Welcome to the first home game of the season at Memorial Park. The top two sides started last week with a loss to Bay Olympic for our Premier side—they now know what's needed. Well done to the Reserves for their first win. This week we welcome Birkenhead's two top sides and look forward to hosting them at the park today. Today we see the changes our club administration has been working on with the return to the club of our small whites who have been based at Pullman Park Papakura for the last few years as part of the whole of football plan. To Kieran and Todd thanks for your efforts in making this happen. It's now the clubs responsibility to make it work. On the other side we start the season with a club breakfast which is quite fitting as we welcome on board the Wiri Licencing Trust as the clubs first team sponsor for the 2017 season. Although they are long time supporters of the club, it is great to see them become sponsors again. We look forward to a long term arrangement which benefits both The Trust, Club and the community. Today with our Premier and Reserve team players here please take the time to have a chat and get to know them. Also coaches introduce them to your team members. -

WE CENTRAL UNITED VS. NORTH SHORE UNITED SUNDAY 16th JULY 2017 – KICK OFF 2PM CHATHAM CUP LAST 16 KIWITEA STADIUM, SANDRINGHAM OFFICIAL NEWSLETTER OPPOSITION: CENTRAL UNITED TOM SPEERS – HEAD COACH I'm definitely looking forward to this weekend! One thing surprised me being involved in football in NZ, was that there is only 1 cup competition! But as there is only one, everyone, including myself, get really up for it and that will be no different this Sunday. Against a strong team in Central, we know the big challenge that awaits us, they are essentially a national league side with some fantastic players, but on the day it is 11v11 and on our day anything can happen. So firstly I hope that we are competitive and give them a good game but the winner in me, knows we are going there for only one thing, to try our hardest to make sure North Shore is in the next round.
