SECTION F: HOSPITALS ~ Hospitals provide a wide variety of volunteer positions. Be sure, however, that the work you will be doing involves direct contact with patients, rather than clerical work, telephone answering, messenger work, or working in the hospital’s gift shop. Also, the volunteer application process at many hospitals involves a number of steps, as well as many of the items listed above (page 3, paragraph 6) as “special requirements.” If you want to work at a hospital, get the application process started very early so that you can meet the November 14 deadline for handing in the Xavier registration form.
