The project will create a 24 mile segment of track between New Brunswick and Trenton, NJ capable of 160 mph train operations with high‐tension catenary, upgraded electric Amtrak ARRA Corridor Program NEC Power, Signal, Track, Catenary Improvements power facilities, and high‐speed rail interlockings that allow express trains to overtake and pass local trains, reducing delays that often affect this track $ 449,944,000 section. In addition, this project makes related track and interlocking investments between Trenton, NJ and Morrisville, PA and at New York Penn Station. The upgraded power facilities will reduce power failures, which are frequently experienced on this segment of the NEC. California ‐ Total Funding Amount: $4,243,143,231 This project encompasses the purchase of 15 passenger rail cars and 4 locomotives for use on the Pacific Surfliner, San Joaquin, and Capitol Corridors in California. These new cars and locomotives will be compliant with standards for equipment that can travel at speeds up to 125 mph established Next Generation Passenger Rail Equipment CA ‐ DOT ARRA Corridor Program pursuant to Section 305 of the Passenger Rail Investment and Improvement Act of 2008. -

It consists of approximately 10.45 acres and is currently used for the North Hollywood Station entrance, a 14-bay bus layover site and a 1,101-space auto parking surface lot. •Parcel 2 is located west of Lankershim Boulevard and bounded by South Chandler Boulevard on the north, Bakman Avenue on the west and Weddington Avenue on the south. It is approximately 1.8 acres and currently serves Metro construction-related uses. Though not directly connected to Metro Red Line, this parcel can be directly linked to the station through an existing knockout panel. The 'Start Smart' Program is a cooperative effort between the California Highway Patrol, Camarillo Police Department, teenage drivers, and their parents. In an attempt to remain proactive and not reactive, Start Smart is designed to help young drivers and their parents/guardians understand the responsibilities associated with driving a motor vehicle. Start Smart will show how a poor choice behind the wheel can change the lives of everyone involved. Our goal is to raise awareness and reduce the number of teen-related injuries and deaths due to collisions. Oxnard Gang Member Arrested For Assault Rifle 1/5/2017 9:46:00 PM Nature of Incident: Assault Rifle / High Capacity Magazine Arrest Report Number: 17-1581 (Ventura County Sheriff's Office) 17-1116 (Oxnard Police Department) Location: 300 block of Gibralter Street, City of Oxnard Date & Time: January 4, 2017 7:00 PM Unit(s) Responsible: Ventura County Sheriff's Office, Oxnard Police Department (S)uspects, (V)ictims, (P)arty, (D)ecedent City of Residence Age Juan Davalos Oxnard 18 Narrative: On January 4, 2017, Investigators received information about a criminal street gang associate possessing an assault rifle in the City of Oxnard. The investigation led to the seizure of a loaded assault rifle, a high capacity magazine and the arrest of Juan Davalos. On January 4, 2017 Investigators with the Ventura County Sheriff's Office Special Crimes Unit and the Oxnard Police Department learned Juan Davalos, who is an Oxnard criminal street gang associate, was in possession of an assault rifle. Investigators began an investigation and obtained a search warrant to search Davalos' residence in the 300 block of Gibralter Street in the City of Oxnard. The Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit along with the Violent Crimes Unit executed the search warrant at the residence. A search of the residence revealed an assault rifle with a loaded high capacity magazine. Davalos was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Ventura County Jail for a warrant on an unrelated case. STAFF REPORT SUBJECT: Amtrak Pacific Surfliner MEETING DATE: January 19, 2006 AGENDA ITEM: 12 A STAFF CONTACT: Andrew Orfila, Michael Powers RECOMMENDATION: Receive summary on ridership by station for Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner Service SUMMARY: At the October joint meeting between SBCAG and SLOCOG, board members requested information on passenger rail usage. Data was provided to SBCAG by Caltrans and Amtrak staff that summarizes historical ridership patterns for Amtrak’s facilities in Santa Barbara County dating back to fiscal year 1999. Amtrak/Caltrans staff also provided ridership data for Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner route for the month of August 2005. This report can be used to track general Amtrak ridership trends and to develop potential market packages for the Pacific Surfliner and other passenger rail lines. The report also highlights interregional passenger usage of rail between Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties. In summary: • The data indicates a general trend of increasing Amtrak ridership in Santa Barbara County. • The Santa Barbara train station serves the most passengers within the County. There were 270,080 passengers that boarded (passengers on) or alighted (passengers off) at the Santa Barbara train station in fiscal year 2005. This total includes both train and bus ridership numbers. Ridership increases have been steady at the Santa Barbara station over the last seven years, but were down 8% from FY 2004 to 2005. • The second most popular station in the County is Goleta, with 66,531 passengers that boarded/alighted (trains plus buses) for fiscal year 2005. Ridership has increased significantly at Amtrak’s Goleta station, with annual increases of 51% from FY 2003 to 2004 and 46% from FY 2004 to 2005. -
