AstronomicalThe Astronomical is over six hundred Clock old! It’s incredible that people were able to create such a sophisticated mechanism such a long ago. A very clever man, Mr. Hanuš, created plans for the Clock and the councillors 1 liked it so much they asked him to make the Clock exactly according to plan.

The result was spectacular. No other city on Earth 2 had such a beautiful clock. One that could show the movement of the , the and the , and measure , days, and even time. Plus there was a skeleton that rang the bell and other statues on the clock that moved.

The soon became famous. People traveled to Prague from all over the world just to see it. Everyone knew 3 Mr. Hanuš, who was by now a celebrity.

But Mr. Hanuš didn’t become vain, instead 4 he worked hard on new projects. And that made the councillors nervous. They didn’t want Mr. Hanuš to make a clock for any other city.

They decided to do something terrible instead. One night when Mr. Hanuš was 5 working at home, the councillors attacked him and blinded him. This way they believed he would never be able to create another clock.
