Jeremy Filsell is widely recognized as one of very few performers who concertizes equally as organist Program and pianist. He has appeared as a solo pianist in Russia, Scandinavia, the USA, and throughout the UK. His repertoire encompasses Mozart and Beethoven through to Shostakovich and Rachmaninoff (1st, 2nd, and 3rd concerti). He collaborates frequently with Wanamaker Grand Court PIANO Organist Peter Richard Conte in performances of Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto with the organ

serving as the orchestra. Trois Préludes, Op. 36 ...... (1870-1937) Dr. Filsell’s discography comprises more than 25 solo recordings. He has recorded the solo Par gros temps piano music of Herbert Howells, Bernard Stevens, and Eugene Goossens for the Guild label, Tendresse Rachmaninov’s piano music for the Signum label, and French Mélodies with Michael Bundy (baritone) Suprème Appel for the Naxos label. Gramophone magazine said of Filsell’s premiere recordings in 2000 of Marcel Dupré’s complete organ works that it was “one of the greatest achievements in organ recording.” In 2005, the Signum label released a 3-disc set of the six organ symphonies of Louis Vierne, recorded on Agnus Dei (from Messe ‘Cum jubilo’, Op. 11), for soprano ...... the 1890 Cavaillé-Coll organ in St. Ouen, Rouen. Maurice Duruflé (1902-1986) Dr. Filsell has taught at universities, summer schools, and conventions in both the UK and USA and has served twice on international organ competition juries. Recent solo recital engagements have Quartre Mélodies, Op. 6 for soprano and piano Marcel Dupré (1886-1971) taken him across the USA, the UK, and to Germany, France, Finland, and Norway. He was awarded his PhD at Birmingham Roses dans le nuit Conservatoire/BCU for research of the music of Marcel Dupré. Prior to moving to the U.S. in 2008, he Marquise held lectureships at London’s and the Royal Northern College of Music in Le deux soeurs Manchester and was a in the Queen's choir at St. George's, Windsor Castle. He currently serves as artist-in-residence at Washington National Cathedral, director of music at the Church of the

INTERMISSION Rebecca Kellerman has been hailed as a soprano with “grace and elegance” by the Washington Post and is a sought-after presence in the DC metro area consort and recital scene. Throughout the Washington DC area, Rebecca sings with groups such as The ORGAN Washington Bach Consort, The Bach Sinfonia, Chantry, Cathedra, Lafayette, and

The National Gallery Vocal Ensemble. Beyond DC, she has worked with Bach Collegium Troisième Choral in La mineur ...... César Franck San Diego, Chatham , Three Notch'd Road, Kontrabande and recently made her Berkeley Festival debut. Conductors with whom she has worked include Daniel Inventions, Op. 50 ...... Marcel Dupré Abraham, the late J. Reilly Lewis, Robert Shafer, Julian Wachner, Ruben Valenzuela, Michael McCarthy, Nos. 1, 7, 13, and 12 Christoph Eschenbach, Robert King, Jane Glover, Leonard Slatkin, and Ryan Brown. Most recently, Rebecca's solo appearances have included recitals featuring the works of Reger, Dupré, Britten, Monteverdi, Purcell and Handel and she has appeared in performances of J. S. Bach's B minor Mass, St. Les Angelus, for soprano and organ ...... Louis Vierne John Passion and St. Luke Passion, numerous Bach as part of the Washington Bach Consort's Au Matin Series, Handel's Messiah and Israel in Egypt, the Mozart and Fauré Requiems, Pergolesi's À Midi Stabat Mater and Vivaldi's Gloria. In she has performed as a recitalist on concert series in Au Soir Edinburgh and Coventry and worked with members of Fretwork and 'The English Cornet and ensemble'. A champion of new music, Rebecca is currently working on a recording project featuring the of Leo Popplewell and Jeremy Filsell, alongside lesser known works of Marcel Dupré and Ernest Prélude et Fugue sur le nom d’ALAIN, Op. 7 ...... Maurice Duruflé Moeran. She currently studies with the acclaimed pedagogue Elizabeth Daniels, but in the past, she has also worked with Emma Kirkby, Judith Coen, Italian coach Enza Ferrari, Julianne Baird, and Craig Audio or video recording of this recital, using any electronic device, without prior Rutenburg.
