Gobsmacked: British Programming MARCH 2018 That Astounds & Bewilders rom comedies to romance to detective thrillers, British programming sure knows how to engage and Fentice WLIW21 audiences!

New programming from across the pond includes I Want My Wife Back (Fridays at 10pm beginning March 9). This modern romantic comedy follows nice guy Murray, whose world is turned upside-down when his wife Bex announces she’s leaving him…at her 40th surprise party which he planned. Murray’s quest to win Bex back is going to be quite a struggle. Whether accidentally assaulting a romantic rival, or failing to impress Bex with a tenuous celebrity connection, he invariably manages to make the situation worse. But will his mission to resurrect his marriage end in triumph, or disaster?

Marking the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare, Upstart Crow (Fridays at 10:30pm beginning March 16) follows the Bard’s fictional early life, before his literary successes. This fitting comic tribute to the greatest writer in the history of the English Upstart Crow language reveals some rather surprising stories about where his best ideas came from, from the underminings of snooty rival Robert Greene to his badly behaved parents living in his house.

Switching gears and genres, WLIW21 premieres Black Work, a crime thriller that finds Police Constable Jo Gillespie investigating her detective husband’s death and secret life as an undercover agent (Tuesdays at 9pm premiering March 6). Although the police brass urge her to stay out of the investigation, Jo begins to doubt her fellow officers and searches for the killer. As Ryan’s secrets come to light, Jo’s quest turns dangerous, and Black Work she fears she can’t trust even those closest to her.

I Want My Wife Back Of course, exhilarating seasons of Whitechapel and Midsomer Murders continue on weekends in March, and look out for
