The 1, 2, 3 approach: nourishing snacks

Snacks provide vital additional nutrition to those at risk of malnutrition and should be offered. Where malnutrition risk has been identified using MUST screening (i.e. MUST = one or more), two to three nourishing snacks (totalling at least 200kcal) should be offered per day. High calorie fortified snacks should be offered as a first line option if intake is very poor.

High calorie fortified snacks
