Contact details for Committee Clerks are provided at the end of the Bulletin. Finance Committee 1st Meeting, 2013 The Committee will meet at 9.30 am in Committee Room 2 1. Declaration of interests: Malcolm Chisholm will be invited to declare any relevant interests. 2. Decision on taking business in private: The Committee will decide whether to take item 5 in private. 3. Demographic change and ageing population: The Committee will take evidence from— John Swinney, Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Employment and Sustainable Growth, Katriona Carmichael, Policy Adviser, Public Service Reform Unit, Andrew Watson, Head of Finance Policy, and Peter Whitehouse, Unit Head, Analytical Services, Health Directorate, Scottish Government. 4. Public Service Pensions Bill (UK Parliament legislation): The Committee will take evidence on legislative consent memorandum LCM (S4)19.1 from— John Swinney, Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Employment and Sustainable Growth, Stuart Foubister, Divisional Solicitor, Legal Directorate, and Chad Dawtry, Director of Policy, Strategy and Development, Scottish Public Pensions Agency, Scottish Government. 5. Forth Road Bridge Bill: The Committee will consider its approach to the scrutiny of the Financial Memorandum. Economy, Energy and Tourism Committee 1st Meeting, 2013 The Committee will meet at 10.00 am in Committee Room 4 1. Inquiry into Underemployment in Scotland: The Committee will take evidence from— Professor David Bell, University of Stirling. 2. Inquiry into Underemployment in Scotland - witness expenses: The Committee will be invited to delegate to the Convener responsibility for arranging for the SPCB to pay, under Rule 12.4.3, any expenses of witnesses in the inquiry. 3 3. Inquiry into Underemployment in Scotland (in private): The Committee will consider the evidence heard. Rural Affairs, Climate Change and Environment Committee 1st Meeting, 2013 The Committee will meet at 10.00 am in Committee Room 1 1. Decision on taking business in private: The Committee will decide whether to take item 3 in private. The Committee will also decide whether to take consideration of the European Commission’s work programme and agreement of its EU priorities; the Standards, Procedures and Public Appointments Committee inquiries into post legislative scrutiny and Scottish Law Commission bills; its approach to scrutiny of the Scottish Government’s second report on proposals and policies, required by the Climate Change (Scotland) Act 2009; and its work programme, in private at its next meeting. 2. Aquaculture and Fisheries (Scotland) Bill: The Committee will take evidence on the Bill at Stage 1 from— Paul Wheelhouse, Minister for Environment and Climate Change, Willie Cowan, Deputy Director of Performance, Aquaculture and Recreational Fisheries, and Lindsay Anderson, Solicitor, head of branch, Scottish Government. 3. Jim Eadie: To ask the Scottish Government what scope there is for capital investment by Scottish Water to prevent flooding to properties that are not included on its internal flood register.
