The new website was designed to provide direct and effective services to visitors, offering a new and modern digital experience. Making use of contemporary tools and cutting-edge technology, the new website connects content with the Bank’s electronic services and online Customer service. The new website consists of the following five main sections: • Retail • Business • Alpha Bank Gold • Alpha Private Bank • Alpha Bank Group The Retail section is the new website’s homepage. Each section has its own navigation menu, featuring the main subsections/categories that contain useful information for visitors and have their own colour codes, according to the Bank’s corporate identity. < 3 / 50 > IN FOCUS New alpha.gr and existing sites The new website, which replaced the previous one, successfully incorporated the content of the following microsites: - www.alpha.gr/e-banking - www.alpha.gr/katanalotika - www.alpha.gr/e-banking/business/ - www.alpha.gr/vriskoumelyseis - www.alpha.gr/cards - www.alpha.gr/alphabankgold - www.alpha.gr/bonus - www.alpha.gr/alphaprivatebanking A website that works across different devices and screens The new alpha.gr provides the best possible experience on wide screens, with a 1333*900 px resolution, which is what most visitors use. Nonetheless, with a powerful adjustment, it also provides the best visual result on 1024*768 px screens. Visitor experience and cutting-edge technology The new website is defined by quality aesthetics and modern design, while at the same time it was tested in order to meet modern operating procedures and be user-friendly. Depending on the device used (computers, tablets, mobile phones), it makes the necessary adjustments in order to offer a fully specialised navigation experience. In addition, making use of content personalisation, it will soon provide visitors with information about Bank products and services that really interest them. < 4 / 50 > IN FOCUS Tools and new possibilities The new website has many different tools that help visitors explore the Bank’s products and services, according to their needs. Content and structure The new alpha.gr is the result of collective effort and intensive work. In order to finalise its content, the Marketing and Public Relations Division worked together with more than 25 of the Bank’s Divisions. The final structure, decided upon following interviews, questionnaires, suggestions and the study of best practices, incorporates, in the best possible way, the internal needs and the regulatory framework, in a modern environment in terms of technology, while the content was collected and updated with search engine optimisation in mind. < 5 / 50 > THE BANK “Digitalized” igital technology changes Customer needs and habits, leading to new trends in business service models and at the D same time creating challenges as well as new growth prospects. PAPPAS, VASILEIOS (UNIVERSITY OF IOANNINA) The first Modern Greek translation of Catullus’ poems by Gustave Laffon, in: thersites 8 (2018), 1-33. KEYWORDS Catullus, Lesbia, Laffon, Latin, reception, translation. ABSTRACT The reception of Catullus has a long history in Western Europe, with numerous critical editions, translations and commentaries covering his work. In Greece during the 19th century, however, there were only a few, selective translations of Catullus’ poems. Gustave Laffon (1835-1906), a Franco-Cypriot poet, wrote in Modern Greek and translated a number of French authors into Greek, as well as a few Latin poems. In this paper, I will cover Laffon’s five Modern Greek translations of Catullus’ poems for Lesbia in verse (published after his death, in his Apanta from 1915). I will do this from a threefold per- spective: by identifying the prototypes of these poems; by analysing some of his translation techniques, language and style; and finally by seeking out the readership of these translations.

Prof. Kalliopi Chainoglou Andrew Ormston Printing: Angeliki Thymi Alphabet SA © 2015 Corfu2021 We would like to extend our special thanks to Salty Bag PC, who actively supported the production of the Corfu2021 candidacy by creating the Bid Book sleeve using upcycled old sails that have travelled around Corfu and the Ionian Sea. We would also like to thank Professor Anastasia Siopsi, Kyriakos Kolesis, Onoufrios Pavlogiannis and Stratis Andreadis for their great assistance on specific topics in this Bid Book and all the photographers that offered their images of Corfu to help illustrate its beauty in this book. Our warmest thanks go out to the Ionian University, its Laboratory for Geocultural Analyses (GeoLab), the over one hundred and ninety cultural organisations operating in Corfu and the hundreds of citizens who contributed voluntarily during the preparation stage with their ideas, services, projects and social media actions.
