She agreed to - which was very generous of her; I could've been anyone out to make a quick ten quid or whatever I could get! - and I said I had come from and was returning to Charlbury where we have a 'weekend retreat' and where I knew there were five churches I could visit. I took a detour via Chadlington - where I picked up another sponsor, as I did at Charlbury Methodist Church - and visited the other churches in Charlbury before catching the train back to Surrey where I live permanently. There I managed to persuade my wife to give me some money. At our own church the following day the lady who organises the Ride And Stride for us asked me if I would sponsor her. I said I would if she would do likewise for me. She said that she knew I hadn't done anything as I would've had to've got a form from her so she agreed to sponsor me!
