The Spirit of the Vale Christmas Fair on 28th November has chosen the branch of ‘A Band of Brothers’ as its charity for 2019.

The nationwide organization, A Band of Brothers, which was awarded the Queen’s Medal for voluntary service in 2015, is focused primarily on helping disaffected young men within the criminal justice system — many of whom have suffered extreme trauma, addiction and homelessness — to find their place in society.

Local living history groups will provide small displays and interact with visitors, as they portray members of 1st Battalion, Oxfordshire and Light Infantry and the Oxfordshire Home Guard. Oxfordshire County Council Music Serve Youth Orchestra, will also play music of the era throughout the day.
