In the early hours of Wednesday, 16 September the Home Secretary accompanied officers from the Metropolitan Police Service and Sussex Police on an operation targeting County Lines offending. Officers carried out a search warrant at an address in Brighton Terrace, Brixton and arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of supply of Class A drugs - crack cocaine and heroin.   • Rund Um Das Große Torfhausmoor
    UNESCO-Welterbestätte „Erzbergwerk Rammelsberg, Altstadt Goslar, Oberharzer Wasserwirtschaft“. Zwischen 1536 und 1866 wurde von Harzer Bergleuten ein umfangreiches System von Gräben und Teichen zum Antrieb der „Künste“ des Bergbaus angelegt. So wichtig der Abbegraben für den Bergbau war, so nachteilig ist er für die Moore. Zu seiner Versorgung gibt es zahlreiche Stichgräben, die die oberhalb gelegenen Flächen des Magdbettmoores entwässern. Daher hat der Nationalpark viele dieser Gräben wieder verschlossen. Kaiserweg Wir folgen dem Goetheweg bis zur Kreuzung mit dem Kaiserweg. Der Goetheweg verläuft rechts weiter in Richtung Brocken. Unsere Wanderung führt uns jedoch nach links – wir folgen nun dem Kaiserweg (Wanderweg 35 E). Dieser frühzeitliche Handelsweg überquert den Harz von Harzburg und Königskrug nach Nordhausen. Moorfichtenwald Bald erreichen wir eine Brücke und überqueren den Bergbach Abbe. Schauen wir nach links in Richtung Großes Torfhausmoor, so blicken wir auf einen Moorfichtenwald. Diese natürliche Waldgesellschaft wächst in einer „Kampfzone“ des Waldes und bildet sich an den Rändern der Moore aus. An der nächsten Kreuzung verlassen wir den Kaiserweg und laufen links und dann wieder links in Richtung Torfhaus (Skihütten). An diesem Weg treffen wir auf den WaldWandelWeg. They are thought to arise from the drainage or collapse of a relatively weak surficial material into an open (or widening) void in a much stronger material below. These craters have a very distinctive expression, often presenting funnel-, cone-, or bowl-shaped geometries. Analogue models of pit crater formation produce pits that typically have steep, nearly conical cross sections, but only show the surface expression of their initiation and evolution. Numerical modelling studies of pit crater formation are limited and have produced some interesting, but nonetheless puzzling, results. Presented here is a high-resolution, 2D discrete element model of weak cover (regolith) collapse into either a static or a widening underlying void. Frictional and frictional-cohesive discrete elements are used to represent a range of probable cover rheologies. Under Martian gravitational conditions, frictional-cohesive and frictional materials both produce cone- and bowl-shaped pit craters. For a given cover thickness, the specific crater shape depends on the amount of underlying void space created for drainage.

    APPENDIX 1 Dr John More and the College of Physicians Dr More, having been accused of irregular practice by the College of Physicians (CPh) in 1612, was the next year charged with an offence against good taste in criticising the practice of Dr Francis Herring, a fellow of the College (FCP), and Archbishop Abbot took the opportunity to ban More from practising. The College was short of funds, however, and in 1617 the considerable sum of £20, a 'voluntary deposit' from More, induced the President, Henry Atkins, to propose conditional acceptance 'until either the King or [Privy] Councillors prohibit it'. This met with substantial resistance - More's formal admission was turned down by the Fellowship on a 15/5 vote. Even so, when Dr Arthur Dee, son of the celebrated Dr John Dee and a physician to Queen Anne, was asked by the CPh by what authority he presumed to practise, Dee replied in exasperation that 'medicine was his profession and that as he could make a business out of it, he ought to follow it', and cited More and Thomas Turner as examples of irregulars whose activities were being condoned by the College. i More continued to press the £20 offer - substantial compared to fees being paid at the time - ii and Atkins pointed out that, despite the embarrassment of Abbot's ban, his licensing 'would be pleasing to important men'. After further wrangling, in March 1619 the Fellows narrowly voted him in, and William Munk lists him as a licentiate of the College. iii Even so, 'the Registrar was careful to inscribe in full his letter averring the money to be a free gift, and More himself “ever...a servante” of the College'.

Capitolio Nacional (1) – Prado entre San José y Dragones. Iniciamos el recorrido en este monumental edificio ubicado en la acera del Paseo del Prado perteneciente a Centro Habana. De fachada neoclásica, fue construido entre 1926 y 1929 para acoger al Congreso de la República. Una imponente escalinata de 55 peldaños, flanqueada por dos estatuas de bronce, el Trabajo y la Virtud Tutelar, obras del italiano Angelo Zanelli, conduce al pórtico de ingreso. En el interior bajo el domo, del mismo autor, se halla La República, que en su momento fue la segunda estatua bajo techo más grande del mundo. Custodiado por La República, un diamante empotrado en el piso de mármol marca el kilómetro cero de la carretera central. No se debe dejar de conocer el majestuoso Salón de los Pasos Perdidos (50 metros de largo, 14,5 de ancho y 20 de puntal). En la acera opuesta, a escasos metros de un extremo del Capitolio, se encuentra el Parque Central (2) – calles Prado, Zulueta, Neptuno y San José, considerado como la principal “puerta de entrada” a La Habana Vieja.
