Harlem Lacrosse is a sport where they don't just teach you how to play. They also teach and help with your academics, which I believe is very helpfu I. It's a sport where you not only have a family at home, but also on the field. Lacrosse gives you opportunities and takes you on adventures. We meet new people who did amazing things during their lifetime. You also go to places you've never been or thought about going. Lacrosse is amazing. It teaches you respect, self control, honor. Lacrosse made me who I am today. KIERA DAVIS, PARTICIPANT (THREE YEARS)

WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT FOR HARLEM LACROSSE FOR THE FUTURE?

Just this year alone the academic, character and athletic support for the high school students has been phenomenal. There was a gap before in the transition from middle to high school and this year it is seamless. The skills, character and academic support wi II be integral to our young boys and girls meeting with success in every area. JACQUELINE JUNE RONCHETTI GUIDANCE COUNSELOR, FREDERICK DOUGLASS ACADEMY

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU SHARE WITH SOMEONE WHO IS THINKING ABOUT GETTING INVOLVED WITH HARLEM LACROSSE?

Even though you don't know how to play now, in a few months you'll be able to play. Never give up on the sport. Even if it's really challenging for you, cradle when you're at home. Cradle when you're watching TV. Stay on the wall. It's a physical sport so even if you get injured try to hop back up. Never stay on your back. RALPH NELSON, PARTICIPANT (ONE YEAR)
