On Wednesday, May 9, just a few days before Mother’s Day, the Women Build Committee pre- sented ceremonial house keys to Irina Antyufeyeva and her family, celebrating the completion of the volunteer component of this house build, including Irina’s sweat equity hours. They were joined by Lowe’s representatives, Vice Mayor Holly Jones, and Habitat staff and volunteers. Irina and her family will close on their home and receive their “real” keys very soon.

Building Houses, Changing Lives Volume 1, Issue 5 Page 2 By the Numbers With the leadership of the Women Build Committee and the participation of hundreds of women, Asheville Area Habitat and YOU built the 2007 Women Build house, in partner- ship with the Antyufeyeva family! Look at the numbers: 2,000 hours of volunteer service were contributed by 267 female volunteers. $77,000+ was contributed to Women Build, exceeding the goal and providing plenty of seed money for the 2008 project! 70-something—age of oldest volunteer (that we know of!) 16—age of youngest volunteer (and our minimum)
