The fungus differs morphologically from other species on hosts of subfamilyApioideae: E. bupleuri, E. helosciadii s.l., E. kundmanniae, E. magocsyanum, and E. pastinacae. Molecular phylogenetic analyses revealed that all specimens of Entyloma from Scandix represent a monophyletic lineage, sister to E. magocsyanum. As a result, the smut in leaves of Scandix verna is described and illustrated here as a new species, Entyloma scandicis. Key words — Entylomatales, evolution, plant pathogens Introduction Entyloma contains more than 170 species of dicotyledon-parasitizing smut fungi, which are found on all continents except Antarctica (Vánky 2012). Çalışma alanının bulunduğu iklim Sub-Akdeniz’li olarak belirlenmiş olup Karadeniz öncesi bölge ile Asıl Karadeniz bölgesi arasında bir geçiş bölgesi olarak tanımlanabilir. Yenice YHGS’nda 445 takson tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma alanı biyocoğrafik konumu itibariyle orman, pseudomaki ve akarsu ekosistemi gibi çok sayıda ekosistemi içinde barındırmakla birlikte hakim vejetasyon tipi orman formasyonudur. Braun-Blanquet metoduna göre orman vejetasyonuna ait toplamda 4 bitki birliği tespit edilmiştir. Tespit edilen birliklerden Corno mas-Quercetum ibericae ass. nova bilim dünyası için yenidir. Our research included pollen sampled from 417 herbarium specimens representing 158 species belonging to 125 genera distributed among all major lineages of Apiales. The pollen was mechanically isolated, acetolysed, suspended in pure glycerine and mounted on paraffin-sealed slides for light microscopy investigation. Although most of the analysed traits were highly homoplastic and showed significant overlap even between distantly related lineages, we were able to construct a taxonomic key based on characters that bear the strongest phylogenetic signal: P/E ratio, mesocolpium shape observed in polar view and ectocolpus length relative to polar diameter. -

The middle of June is a good time to visit this part of Bulgaria as the mountain roads and passes are mostly clear of snow and the alpine flora is at its best. We were able to visit some high-altitude sites, many of them above the tree-line, where we found fascinating alpine flowers growing in profusion. We enjoyed pleasant walks through forests of native firs and pines where the flora, and the birds and insects, were of great interest. Travelling through the largely unspoilt countryside gave us the chance to see the type of agriculture still practiced here. White Storks are a still- familiar sight in Bulgaria, with their large nests being seen in many of the villages. There was time to visit the extraordinary Rila Monastery, a world heritage site, and to explore some of the quiet villages and towns. -

Sequence data from nrDNA ITS, cpDNA matK and trnL-F were used to determine their phylogenetic relationship. Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) amplifications of all regions were performed using universal primers. Maximum Likelihood (ML) trees were constructed using PAUP* software, another phylogenetic tree of ITS sequences showing node ages was obtained from MrBayes programme and Neighbour Net Diagrams were constructed using Splits Tree programme. Our results clearly showed that Smyrniopsis and Opopanax are allied strongly with Petroedmondia syriaca, Magydaris panacifolia, and Crenosciadium siifolium.
