Üyesi Kerim GÜNEY Araştırma alanı, coğrafi açıdan Batı Karadeniz Bölgesi’nde, Karabük ili sınırları içerisinde Karabük’ün en batıdaki ilçesi konumunda olan Yenice’de bulunan Yenice Yaban Hayatı Geliştirme Sahası’dır. Yenice YHGS, biyocoğrafik açıdan Avrupa Sibirya Fitocoğrafik Bölgesi’nin Öksin (Euxine) provensinin batı sektörü içerisinde yer almaktadır. Çalışma alanının bulunduğu iklim Sub-Akdeniz’li olarak belirlenmiş olup Karadeniz öncesi bölge ile Asıl Karadeniz bölgesi arasında bir geçiş bölgesi olarak tanımlanabilir. Yenice YHGS’nda 445 takson tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma alanı biyocoğrafik konumu itibariyle orman, pseudomaki ve akarsu ekosistemi gibi çok sayıda ekosistemi içinde barındırmakla birlikte hakim vejetasyon tipi orman formasyonudur. Braun-Blanquet metoduna göre orman vejetasyonuna ait toplamda 4 bitki birliği tespit edilmiştir. Tespit edilen birliklerden Corno mas-Quercetum ibericae ass. nova bilim dünyası için yenidir. Prof. Dr. Kerim GÜNEY Abstract: The research area is Yenice Wildlife Development Area in Yenice, which is located in the western Black Sea region in the geographical direction and in the westernmost province of Karabük within the Karabük border. Yenice YHGS is in the western sector of the Euxine province of the European Siberian Phytogeographical Region in biogeographical terms. The climate in which the study area is located is defined as Sub-Mediterranean and can be defined as a transition zone between the pre- Black Sea region and the main Black Sea region. There were 445 taxa in Yenice YHGS. The research area is predominantly vegetation type forest formation with its biogeographical location, which includes numerous ecosystems such as forest, pseudomaki and river ecosystem. According to the Braun- Blanquet method, a total of 4 plant associations belonging to forest vegetation were identified. Corno mas-Quercetum ibericae ass. nova is new to the science world. Receive 10 April, 2014; Accepted 24 April, 2014 The status of medicinal plants in the high mountains of northern Jordan was evaluated. A total of 227 plant species belonging to 54 genera and 60 families were recorded. The survey is based on field trips conducted in the areas that include Salt, Jarash, Balka, Amman and Irbid governorates. Line transect method was used; collection of plant species was done and voucher specimens were deposited. A map for the target area was provided; the location of the study area grids in relation to their governorate was included. INTRODUCTION Human beings have always made use of their native cinal plant out of 670 flowering plant species identified in flora, not just as a source of nutrition, but also for fuel, the same area in Jordan. The species has a disjunct but widespread range throughout North America, with eastern and western segregates separated by the Great Plains. In the east, it ranges from Nova Scotia south to Louisiana and west to Minnesota and Missouri. In the west, it ranges from British Columbia to California, east to Utah and Colorado. Although regarded as Globally Secure (G5), national ranks of N? in Canada and the United States indicate some uncertainly about its true conservation status in North America. It is listed as rare (S1 or S2) in 20% of the states and provinces in which it occurs. Floerkea is known from only 11 sites total in New England: three historic sites in Vermont (where it is ranked SH), one historic population in Massachusetts (where it is ranked SX), and four extant and three historic localities in Connecticut (where it is ranked S1, Endangered). The Flora Conservanda: New England ranks it as a Division 2 (Regionally Rare) taxon. Floerkea inhabits open or forested floodplains, riverside seeps, and limestone cliffs in New England, and more generally moist alluvial soils, mesic forests, springy woods, and streamside meadows throughout its range.

Aspects of the biology, taxonomy and control of Calystegia silvatica A thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of AgriScience in Agriculture at Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand Tracey Gawn 2013 i Abstract Calystegia silvatica or great bindweed has recently become a problematic weed in riparian zones but the information available about the control of C. silvatica with herbicides is limited. The current study was undertaken to gain more information about aspects of the control of C. silvatica with herbicides and of the biology and taxonomy of C. silvatica. In Experiment 1 a range of translocated herbicides were applied to established plants in the field. Herbicides were applied in autumn and it was found that none of the herbicides applied, at the rates they were applied at, controlled 100% of the C. silvatica. However triclopyr/picloram/aminopyralid and 2,4-D/dicamba showed significant control of C. silvatica spring regrowth. Aminopyralid alone and glyphosate also showed some long term control. Both metsulfuron and clopyralid showed poor control. The same herbicides applied in the field were also applied in autumn to young C. silvatica grown in pots in a glasshouse. Fluroxypyr and 2,4-D (ester) were also tested. Herbicides were applied to either the upper portion or the lower portion of the plants to determine whether it matters if only part of the plant is treated when trying to avoid spraying nearby native plants in the field.
