Introduction 1. According to the Feasibility Study Report and RF, the Project involves neither land acquisition nor house demolition, and involves temporary land occupation only. This report aims to strengthen the development of ethnic minorities in the project area, and includes mitigation and benefit enhancing measures, and funding sources. The project area involves a number of ethnic minorities, including Yi, Hani and Lisu. B. Socioeconomic profile of ethnic minorities 2. Poverty and income: The Project involves 16 cities/prefectures in Yunnan Province. In 2013, there were 6.61 million poor population in Yunnan Province, which accounting for 17.54% of total population. In 2013, the per capita net income of rural residents in Yunnan Province was 6,141 yuan. 3. Gender Heads of households are usually men, reflecting the superior status of men. Both men and women do farm work, where men usually do more physically demanding farm work, such as fertilization, cultivation, pesticide application, watering, harvesting and transport, while women usually do housework or less physically demanding farm work, such as washing clothes, cooking, taking care of old people and children, feeding livestock, and field management. In Lijiang and Dali, Bai and Naxi women also do physically demanding labor, which is related to ethnic customs. Means of production are usually purchased by men, while daily necessities usually by women.

Urban public greenspace (UPGS) is an important part of urban greenspaces. Existing literature rarely includes a scientific evaluation of greenspace plans (including of UPGS) and plan implementation effects. To bridge this gap, this study evaluated and monitored the UPGS plan enacted in 2010 in Kunming, China. Object-based image classification and visual interpretation of satellite images and Google Earth imagery were used to quantify the different periods of UPGS implementation. Six indicators and monitoring at four classic sites were applied to explore the change at two scales (overall scale and district scale) for monitoring the UPGS plan execu- tion. The results showed that UPGS structure greatly improved after plan implementation.     Yunnan and Guangxi, China 25 December 2003 – 3 January 2004 Björn Anderson Lijiang’s Black Dragon Pool with Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in the background. General This trip was primarily a family vacation trip with some birding stuck in between, especially in Yunnan, where I was able to get a few interesting birds. From a birding perspective the best bird was undoubtedly the Yunnan Nuthatch at Lijiang, closely followed by Giant Nuthatch, Brown-winged Parrotbill and Black-bibbed Tit. Three new Alcippe species were also a real highlight. Itinerary 25/12 Left Beijing at lunchtime on Christmas Day and arrived Kunming in Yunnan three hours later. The weather was a lot more pleasant although a jacket was required. Surprisingly enough it was the kind of airport where people were not hovering over you to offer taxi- rides. We quickly went downtown to our prebooked hotel, Holiday Inn, which apparently had changed ownership. A late afternoon stroll along the main streets before we got into a nice restaurant and had “noodles from across the bridge”, which is the traditional food in Yunnan. Nice local dancing performance was entertaining for the kids. 26/12 A full day to Shilin, the Stone Forest. It is a very fascinating geological place to visit about 100 km southeast of Kunming. With our taxi it took almost two hours to get there, although a quarter of that time was spent getting out of Kunming itself. The weather was grey and gloomy with some drizzle. Fortunately it improved slightly when we were at the Stone Forest. In the late afternoon we stopped at Daguan, which is a park just south of Kunming on the shore of Dian Chi Lake.

Using the government expenditure data from the GFG in Yunnan Province from 2001 to 2015 and the MODIS Land Cover Type (MCD12Q1) time-series datasets, we calculated the forest carbon sequestration of various counties (cities or districts). The impacts of GFG government expenditure on forest carbon sequestration were empirically evaluated by the least squares dummy variables method (LSDV). The research results indicate that a 1% increase in government expenditure on the GFG yielded a 0.0364% increase in forest carbon sequestration. However, the effects of GFG government expenditure on forest carbon sequestration differed greatly in different areas because of the diversity of the natural environments, forest resource endowment, and government policies. If the initial forest endowment was not considered, the effectiveness of government expenditure on the GFG in providing forest carbon sequestration would have been overestimated.
