The 870 mile long Wales Coastal Path opened 5th May 2012.
The walk winds along the shoreline from Chester, along the mouth of the River Dee, past Point of Ayr, around Wales and finishes in Chepstow. It is now also more accessible to not just © Crown Copyright (2012) Visit Wales walkers, but cyclists, wildlife enthusiasts and wheelchair users. Not far from us is Offa’s Dyke, which you can jump on for a gentle stroll or undertake 177 mile trail through the Welsh borderlands.

Point of Ayr Lighthouse gets sold... But to Who?
Point of Ayr Lighthouse at Talacre, Flintshire, was sold earlier this year to a mysterious buyer. Could it be the lighthouse’s resident ghost? Or maybe it’s the Dulux dog’s owners, after the lighthouse was featured in their latest advert?

Q: What are you most proud of? Spotlight on Cathy Furlong , A: Our produce. It’s locally sourced. For the Point of Ayr’s instance our meat is from Danny the Butcher, Holywell. And of course, our Own Shopkeeper service…ask us for a specific order and I will try and get it for you.
Q: How long have you been at Point of Q: Where do you holiday? Ayr? A: I tend to stay local; it’s beautiful here… A: I have been working in the shop for over why go elsewhere?
