Playing PMUG's Enhanced Podcasts with iTunes 11
If you are using iTunes 11 to play PMUG's Enhanced Podcasts, please read this document as important changes have been made which affect your viewing and listening experience.

iTunes 11 has been completely redone. Support for Enhanced Podcasts — audio presented with a synchronized slideshow — has been greatly reduced. The picture window no longer advances like a slideshow and Web links are not shown.
However, there is a workaround… Workaround for Playing Enhanced Podcasts
The following will work until a future version of iTunes restores Enhanced Podcast support.
In short, you can play a copy of the episode in the QuickTime Player and have most of the Enhanced Podcast features found in iTunes 10.
For each Enhanced Podcast episode:
1) Show the Podcast listing in iTunes 11, then click the PMUG Monthly Meetings Podcast in the left column.

2) Drag-and-drop a downloaded episode to the Mac’s Desktop.
Episodes with a icon on the right side have not been downloaded yet.

3) On the Mac desktop, click once on the Podcast file and select "Get Info" from the File menu.
Expand the "Open with" panel, then select "QuickTime Player" from the dropdown menu.
You may now close the Get Info window.

Now double-click the Podcast file on the Desktop and it will open in the QuickTime player. Click the play button to watch the Enhanced Podcast.

Move to jump Play / Pause Toggle fullscreen around viewing
Select preset chapters Click a thumbnail to begin playing from that point, or Buttons at the window's bottom press the ESC key to cancel do several things. and hide the thumbnails. Arrows appear on the sides if there are more chapters. Continued… Playing Enhanced Podcasts in the QuickTime Player
Playback in the QuickTime Player still has limitations, as compared to iTunes 10: • Web links at the window's bottom may not be clickable • There is no way to resume playing if you quit and open the episode again. • Presentation links can't be seen. To see these, go back into iTunes 11, click once on the PMUG Monthly Meetings Podcast episode, and select "Get Info" from the File menu. The file information will appear in a new window — click the "Lyrics" tab to see the episode's presentation links.
