Crop stage & condition across NIK Inter cropping systems followed in rainfed situations:

AMFU, Dharwad: Inter cropping of Pigeon pea + Groundnut (1:2) & Cotton + Ground nut (1:2) Advisories

Groundnut: ü Majority of groundnut crop is at flowering stage, pest and disease should be managed, and apply Gypsum @ 500 kg per ha in band near crop base. ü Spray 1% Potash in groundnut to manage reddening of leaves from margin, at the time of flowering. ü For Zinc deficiency symptoms in ground nut spray 0.25% Zinc sulphate @ 2.5 g per litre of water. ü For control of Spodoptera litura in groundnut spray Emamectin Benjoate 0.25 g perlitre of water or 2.0 ml quinolphos 25 EC per litre of Water and spray in the evening time.

Pigeonpea:

AMFU, Dharwad: Leaf Webber incidence AMFU, Vijayapur: sterility mosaic

AMFU, Dharwad: Wilting due to excess soil moisture. AMFU Raichur: Heliothis incidence. Advisories for Pigeonpea: ü Leaf webber control in pigeonpea spray Profenphos 2 ml and Diclorovas 0.5 ml per litre of water. ü Pod borer in pigeonpea in early stage (egg) spray 2.0 ml Profenphos 50 EC or 0.6 g Methomyl 40 SP per litre of water. ü Sterility mosaic disease: Uproot the infected plant in early stage and spread of disease may be controlled by spraying 2.5 ml Dicopal 18.2 EC or 1.5 ml Oxidemeton methyl 50 EC per litre of water. ü Wilting in Pigeonpea: drench the crop saaf @ 3 gm per litre of water.

Grape:

AMFU, Vijayapur: Downey mildew & Anthracnose diseases in grape

Advisories for Grape:

ü Farmers are advised not attend reproductive pruning, since present weather is not congenial.

Maize:

AMFU, Dharwad: early sown crop is at silking to grain filling stage & late sown Maize crop is infested with fall armyworm

Advisories for Maize:

ü For control of cob worm in Maize spray 4g Carboryl 50% per litre of water. ü When the crop is 100 days old and silk is dry then top portion of the plant can be remove and is used as a fodder to the animals. ü Fall armyworm is observed in most of the area in Maize, spray the crop with Imamectine Benzoate 5 SG (Proclaim) @ 0.2g/litre OR Spinetoram @ 0.5 ml or Corogen @ 0.5 ml or Nomuraea rileyi @ 2 g per lire of water.

Groundnut:

AMFU, Dharwad: Groundnut crop is at flowering to peg initiation stage

AMFU, Dharwad: Spodoptera incidence in Groundnut Advisories for Groundnut:

AMFU, Dharwad Pod borer & Spodoptera & incidence in soybean AMFU, Bidar Sprouting of grains due to heavy rainfall Advisories for Soybean: ü Control of Spodoptera incidence in Soybean Spray Lambda cylothrin (Karate) @ 0.5 ml/litre or Emamectine Benzoate (Proclame) @0.3 g/litre of water. ü Yellow mosaic in Soybean: up root and buried the infected plants and to avoid the spread of Whiteflies spray 1.5 ml Oxidemethon methyl 25 EC or 1.5 ml Trozophos 40 EC per litre of water. ü Pod borer: Crop sown during first fortnight of june is at pod development stage, if pod borer activity is noticed spray 0.2ml Spinosad 45 SC OR 2.0 ml Quinolphos 25 EC per litre of water.

Onion:

AMFU, Dharwad: Twister disease in onion

Advisories for Onion: ü Onion twister disease is observed in most of the area in , forcontrol spray1.0 ml Hexaconezole/ Proficonezole OR Imidachloprid 0.3 ml per litre of water. ü Foliar spray of Potash @ 2 g and Boran @ 2 g per litre ofwater. ü To mange purple blotch disease in Onion spray Copper oxy chloride @ 2 g/litre of water. ü Chemical weed control: Post emergence spray in Onion, Oxiflurofen @ 1 ml per litre of water.

Chilli:

AMFU, Dharwad: Chilli crop is at flowering to fruiting stage, leaf curling is observed

Advisories for Chilli: ü Leaf curling in chilli due to sucking pest is noticed in most of the places, crop should be sprayed with 1.7 ml Dimethoate 30 EC OR 1.0 ml Methylparathion 50 EC OR 1.0 g Acephate 75 SP per litre of water. ü Yellowing of leaves due to excess rain is noticed in Chilli crop, it can be managed by foliar spry.

Cotton:

AMFU, Dharwad: Leaf reddening and Leaf rust incidence observed in Cotton

DAMU, Yadgir: Pink bollworm: AMFU, Dharwad: AMFU, Bidar incidence in Cotton wilting in Cotton Squares & Flowering stage

Advisories for Cotton: ü To manage Sucking pests in cotton spray 0.3 g Dinotefuron 20% SG OR 1.0 ml Pipronil 5% SC per litre of water. ü Leaf yellowing can be managed by spraying 3.0 g NPK fertilizer with 1.0 g of Carbondizim per litre of water and it should be sprayed under sunnydays. ü If, Jassids /Thrips /Aphids were noticed – Spray 0.5 ml Imidacloprid 17.8SL or 1.5 ml Oxydemton methyl 25EC or 0.2 g Acetamiprid 20SP or Thiomethoxam 25 WG @ 0.2 g/lit per liter of water. ü For control of flower and Square dropping in cotton spray Alpha Nepthalin acitic acid @ 0.25 ml per litre of water. ü Early symptoms of Downy mildew in Cotton is noticed for control spray: native @ 0.3 g or Ridomil gold @ 3 g per litre of water. ü Stem borer in cotton is noticed in some area, it advised to spray Propenophas 50 EC @ 2 ml per litre of water + DDVP 76 EC @ 0.5 ml per litre of water. ü Pink bollworm incidence: Spray Imamectine benzoate 5 SG (Proclame) @ 0.4 gm per litre or 8 gm per 20 litre of water of water. ü Wilting in Cotton: drench the infected crop with bavistin @ 2 gm + COC 3 g per litre of water. ü Spray the crop with Potassium nitrate 13:00:45 OR 19:19:19 fertilizer @ 5 g per litre of water. ü Leaf reddening: Spray Magnasium Sulphate @10 gm + potassium nitrate 5 gm per litre of water.

Paddy:

DAMU, Koppal: Paddy crop is at tillering stage, attending hand weeding operation.

AMFU, Sirsi: Majority of Padday is 60 days crop: Case worm incidence is noticed. Advisories: ü Paddy case worm incidence: Spray Chlorpyrifos or Prefenofos @ 2 gm per litre of water. Top dressing in Paddy ü 1st top dress at 20 Days after trance planting (DAT) @ 25-30 kg of Urea per acre. ü 2nd top dress at 40 Days after trance planting (DAT) @ 25-30 kg of Urea per acre. ü 3rd top dress at 60 Days after trance planting (DAT) @ 25-30 kg of Urea per acre. ü For long duration varieties one more top dressing will be made. Turmeric:

AMFU, Bidar: Taphrina leaf spot in turmeric Advisories for Turmeric: ü For control of Taphrina leaf spot, spray Propiconazole 1 ml + Sandovit 1 ml per litre of water.

Pearl millet: ü Helicoverpa incidence in pearl millet at milky stage, collect and destroy the larvae ü Erection of bird perches above the height of the crop. Sunflower: ü Sunflower crop which are at physiological maturity stage, it is advised to attend harvesting which provide time for land preparation to take up second crop.

Extension of date for Kharif 2020-21 Crop Survey: Registration of crop status through Crop Survey App 2020-21 is extended for one more month from 24.8.2020. Farmers are advised to download the App, visit you’re their respective fields and complete the survey process. For more details on the App and how to use it contact the nearest RSK office. Important Message from Ministry of Agriculture, GOK: Some suspicious activity is going on in our state by sending unsolicited parcel to the farmers in the name of seeds. In this regard Shri. B.C Patil, Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture has issued an advice to the farmers not to accept any parcel from unknown address / persons.If farmers found any such parcel at their door step they are advised not to open the parcel and report to the nearest police station of your area.
