The Hawaii Performing Arts Festival explores such a tale in ’s 1973 musical “A Little Night Music” at 7:30 p.m. July 29 at the Palace Theater in Hilo and 2 p.m. July 31 at the Kahilu Theatre in Waimea. WConsidered one of Sondheim’s greatest works, “A Little Night Music” is set at the turn of the last century and is a tale about cou- pling and uncoupling — a tangled web of former and current lovers. Lawyer Fredrik Egerman recently wed young virgin Anne, with whom his son, Henrik, also fell madly in love.
