Below is a summary of the January 2013 Air Traffic Statistics Report, which contains passenger data for National and Dulles as well as cargo data for Dulles. This report also contains comparative BWI Airport and for America (A4A) U.S. Industry passenger and cargo statistics.

National • Current Month Activity vs. January 2012 o The overall growth in January 2013 passenger traffic, the highest January ever, was primarily driven by 14.5% growth in domestic traffic: ƒ Presidential Inauguration had a positive impact on air travel ƒ JetBlue started new service to San Juan and Tampa and increased service to Boston, Ft. Lauderdale, and Orlando ƒ Activity growth for US Airways mainline and regional, Southwest (new service to Austin and St. Louis), , and Delta (increased service to Memphis and Salt Lake City), but was offset by declines in , Frontier, and Spirit (Spirit ceased service, effective October 2012) o Transborder passenger traffic growth of 62.5% was primarily driven by US Airways Express service to Toronto, Montreal Dorval, and Ottawa

• US Airways mainline had the largest passenger market share with 21.3% in January 2013 o US Airways mainline activity increased 15.6% compared to January 2012

• January 2013 total passenger growth of 15.1% was ahead of A4A U.S. Industry average enplanement growth of 2.0%

Dulles • Current Month Activity vs. January 2012 o The overall decline in January 2013 passenger traffic, the lowest January since 2004, was primarily driven by a 7.3% decline in domestic traffic: ƒ JetBlue service to Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando was repositioned to DCA ƒ Reduced JetBlue capacity to Boston, JFK, and Long Beach ƒ Overall domestic activity declines for United Express and Southwest

Dulles (continued) o International traffic growth of 6.8% was primarily driven by new service: ƒ Emirates to Dubai ƒ to Mexico City ƒ Porter Airlines to Toronto City Centre

• United mainline had the largest passenger market share with 42.6% in January 2013 o United mainline activity increased 1.6% compared to January 2012

• January 2013 total passenger decline of 3.3% lagged A4A U.S. Industry average enplanement growth of 2.0%

• Total cargo (mail and freight) o Decreased 7.9% compared to January 2012 and lagged A4A U.S. Industry average growth of 7.8% ƒ Domestic: decrease of 6.9% was primarily driven by United downsizing from wide- body to narrow-body to and from the West Coast ƒ International: decrease of 8.8% was primarily due to the European economic crisis, the downsizing of United wide-body flights servicing Paris and Amsterdam and overall declines for , and , which was offset by growth in Emirates and Federal Express

BWI • Current Month Activity vs. January 2012 o January 2013 total passengers of 1.5 M increased 1.5% compared to January 2012 and lagged A4A U.S. Industry average enplanement growth of 2.0% o Dulles surpassed BWI by 70.7 K passengers o BWI surpassed National by 62.2 K passengers o Southwest+AirTran had the largest passenger market share with 69.0% ƒ Southwest+AirTran activity decreased 0.5% compared to January 2012
