Welcome to LIFE in a HUMAN BODY. Covid appears to be a wake-up call for all of us, as we are facing great change and uncertainty of our future. It has helped me, personally to boil down what is truly important now and going forward. I knew conclusively that a short practical book on DETOXIFICATION USING JUICE FASTING, could be really helpful to others. Even just a few days could bring people into more clarity about their body and what it actually needs to boost it’s immunity. Since I couldn’t meet with people in person, I could help them do a detoxification program online. This e-book offers a concise protocol of a very practical, time-honored system to detoxify yourself. WHERE TO START?

ou have the desire to live and even thrive with the best health ever. Start with the basics. The body has Y the ability to make corrections. Realize that… you can listen to your body’s needs your respect for yourself comes first getting in the kitchen can be fun and productive our body needs nutrition, hydration and rest. our body, mind and spirit are in alignment

Planning a One Month Protocol: Liquids of organic and are highly infused with vitamins and minerals. There are also living enzymes, which digest and assimilate those vitamins and minerals, as your blood carries that nutrition throughout your body. You are giving your body a tremendous opportunity to release many unnecessary toxins, viruses, bacteria, fungus, and more. Your digestive system now has the supreme job of being the garbage collector and making sure it gets this toxic debris out of your body as quickly as possible. The results are worth some slight gassy discomfort you might be feeling during this process. These liquid and blended will be stirring up the bowels to enable debris to be released. Unless you are already eating a very clean -based regime, I wouldn't recommend that you start a liquid fast straight away. There will have to be some preparation by eating light nutritious raw fruits and vegetables for a week along with fresh organic juices. See if you can take 5 - days off from your regular busy schedule. You can still do some work, but just slow down. Get quiet, drink only juices, smoothies, water, broth, tea and carve out time to rest, exercise, breathe deeply, do yoga, shop for best fresh ingredients and prepare the juices. One of my most successful clients from a few years ago, began to make changes about a month before she came to a group retreat with me in Florida. She had already cleaned up her kitchen, set up her and purchased a Vita Mix. She began adding juices and smoothies to her regular menu, so that when she returned home, she stayed focused and kept on eating mostly raw, drinking juices and smoothies and having one moderate meal per day of solid foods. Pre-Fast Week During this Pre-Fast, drink two raw, organic based juices and a a day. Cravings will lessen. Water is a critical addition to the cleansing process, but try to drink pure water 15 minutes before or after other liquids (not cold). Limit snacks to fruits, nuts and seeds, chewed well. General Plan:

JUICERS AND BLENDER

his is a purchase of great importance. Get on your browser and ask “Reviews of Juicers” Reviews of T Blenders.” A juicer extracts juice and leaves the pulp. Some people think this is wasteful. If you have a garden, you can make great compost with your pulp. I love the all-stainless steel Breville. ($299) It is the fastest to use, and clean up. There are many others you can look at. It can be overwhelming. It is for me. Learn how to use the juicer so that it will last a long time. The blender, on the other hand, is great for quick prep of smoothies, salad dressings, guacamole, nut milks, frozen banana ice cream, etc. I use the Vitamix, a powerful blender, which I use almost everyday. I actually know people who love the Nutribullet, or even the Osterizer with the glass container. These are very reasonably priced blenders. Adding organic powders to vegetable juices and smoothies will improve your nutritional levels of vitamins and minerals even more. 3

SHOPPING LIST/RECIPES

hopping List for , Smoothies and Broth: Fill you sink with water and some 1/2 cup of white S vinegar to soak before you wash these items such as carrots with a brush. There are many videos on You Tube showing you how to prepare these veggie and fruits to be juiced. Make 48-96 oz per day of fresh juice, depending on your body height and weight. Shop every other day to get the freshest of ingredients. Organic and Veggies for Juicing Carrots – 5 pound bag Beets - 1-2 bunches Celery - 1-2 bunches Red Peppers - 4 Cucumbers - 6 Apples - 6 - Green and Red Ginger - large hand size Spinach – 2 bunches Chard – 1 bunch Kale - 1 bunch (use different varieties) Dandelion Greens - 1 bunch Beet greens - 1 bunch - 10 (use in juices with peel) Oranges - 10 Olive oil - buy the best you can buy

LIVER CLEANSING DRINK - also called “The Hangover Drink” - Days 3-5, over the weekend. It makes an interesting Morning Smoothie! Doesn’t taste too bad. Just get it down. Put these ingredients in a blender for 2 minutes • 8 oz of fresh squeeze with one • 1 - 2 cloves of Garlic, start with 2 and increase each day one more clove. • 1 inch ginger root • 2 - 5 Tablespoons of Extra-Virgin Olive Oil • 8 oz. of distilled, filtered or reverse osmosis water

VEGGIE SEAWEED BROTH: A very satisfying salty drink in the evening. Boil in a soup pot. 2 carrots 2 parsnips 4 small red potatoes with skins 1 large onion 1 large cloves of Garlic 1 bunch parsley 1 bunch dill 1 large bunch of (seaweed) dulse, wakame or 2 stalks of kombu 4 shitake mushrooms (order from www.theseaweedman.com) Season with some sea salt and more of your favorite spices. Bring first to a boil and let simmer for about two hours. Strain and drink. Save cooled off broth in glass jars in the refrigerator. If at some point you feel a bit weak, cook 1/2 cup of quinoa and use 2 Tablespoons in your cup or bowl. Green Smoothies: You will be using your blender for these drinks. These are basically leafy greens and fruit. ***Add a tablespoon each of Moringa, Barley Greens or Spirulina powder for a 12 oz glass of smoothie. They are very good protein sources. Use a bit more water if you want the smoothie to be a thinner consistency. Recipe #1 2-3 cups of greens of your choice (spinach, kale, beet tops) 1 cup papaya 2 oranges 2 cups water Recipe #2 1 handful romaine lettuce leaves 1 banana (frozen) – makes the drink cooler and thicker 5 strawberries or other berries 2 cups water Recipe #3 4-5 kale leaves 2 apples 2 dates 1/2 lemon juiced 2 cups water

FRUIT AND VEGETABLE Juices Recipe #1 4 large apples 6-10 stalks of celery 2 inches of ginger 2 large pears 1 handful of wheat grass, bunched up in between apples and pears Recipe #2 1 apple 6 small carrots 1 cucumber 2 stalks of celery Recipe #3 1 apple 6 small carrots 1 cucumber 2 stalks of celery 1⁄2 lemon with peel 2 cloves garlic 1 inch piece of ginger Handful of greens (spinach, kale, chard) Recipe #4 1⁄4 of small Handful of parsley Handful of spinach 1 inch piece of ginger Dilute with 1 cup of water 4

DAILY DETOX SCHEDULE

his is a general schedule. Work around it. Ultimately, everything depends on how you feel, but T please don’t go too long without drinking a juice or smoothie. Hunger can come on with a vengeance. 7:30 - 8 oz water/teaspoon of Baking Soda 8:00 - 1st Juice - 12 oz 8:30 - Do some Yoga 9:00 - Water with Juice of one Lemon 10:30 - 2nd Juice - 12 oz 12:00 - Vegetable Broth 12:15 - Take a walk, a nap, or read. 2:00 pm - 3rd Juice - 12 oz - Green mostly 3:00 pm - Water with Lemon 4:30 pm - 4th Juice 5:30 pm - Water with Lemon 6:00 pm - 5th Juice 7:30 pm - Water 8:30 pm - Broth - 1-2 cups warm 9:30 pm - You can take 2 capsules of EZ-Go, an herbal stool softener from Doctor’s Choice (Amazon) or a cup of Smooth Move Tea each evening. There are many other products, but don’t use mineral oil or others that contain chemicals. While cleansing, people commonly experience side effects such as headaches, fatigue, difficulty thinking, moodiness, stomach pain and hunger pangs. Be prepared for changes in bowel function. If you get a headache...lay down and rest. Massage your “Hoku” point in the webs of your hands and the points of your Large Intestine points on your feet. See chart in Chapter 6. If you are not having a bowel movement for two days in a row, take more Smooth Move Tea, E-Z Go Stool Softener or get a colonics/an enema. The purpose of the fast is to get things moving. Massage your abdominal area in a clock rise motion a few times a day to help move things along. 5

BREAKING THE FAST/FOLLOW UP

reaking the Fast: Breaking the fast is critical and should be done very slowly, eating mostly fruit, B steamed or raw leafy vegetables, salads and Green Smoothies for the first few days. LESS IS MORE! Chewing becomes a major focus when you break a fast. You will actually experience real enjoyment as you chew better and better. Your body will be very happy with this slow-motion experience. First Week of Breaking the Fast • Salads • Steamed or sautéed greens and veggies • Smoothies, juices, herb teas, wraps with a salad inside and home-made dressings • bean soup with sliced avocado • fruit and nut smoothies (soak nuts overnight), super foods like Spirulina and Moringa Second Week: • baked sweet potatoes can be eaten as is or blended into a soup • stay with the juices and smoothies • pastas made from chickpeas and lentils • salads and humus with celery sticks, carrots, etc. • brown rice or quinoa , hempeh, , and other beans Eat as many raw fruits and vegetables as your body can handle (60% raw and 40% cooked is a good guideline for most people). If your digestion is very weak, you may need to eat more steamed or baked vegetables. You may want to eat cooked food at one meal and raw food at another. Remember that after a fast, your stomach has shrunk. It’s a brand new smaller stomach. You will fill up faster. You will be very digestively sensitive. Be very careful to not overeat and over stretch your stomach. You will probably come to the conclusion that you don't need as much food as you did before the fast. You are having a new relationship with your own body. This conscious way of eating, needs to be repeated once or twice a few times per year, depending on your desired weight loss. And in-between fasts, you need to eat mostly plant-based. We come from the apes, who live on raw fruits and leafy greens. They are stronger than most of the animal kingdom. Now that you have accomplished your goal of cleansing and detoxifying, I congratulate your efforts. BACKGROUND: Jill Ayn Schneider, BA, LMT Jill graduated American University in Washington, DC in 1966 with a BA in Education. After teaching young children for several years, and some extended travel in Europe, Nepal and India, she then settled down in Miami. In 1975, during a gynecological check up, her doctor found Class V Cervical Cancer on a PAP Test. Her doctor wanted her in the hospital immediately commenting that her cancer was very serious and she could die if she did not do as he recommended. At this time, Jill was studying the Theory of Oriental Medicine, which came to mind immediately as soon as she was diagnosed. She consulted with Dr. Ralph Alan Dale, who was teaching the Introductory Class, which she was enrolled in, at the same time of her diagnosis. At 29, Jill had been a meditator for a couple of years. Jill let go of all fear, while intellectually questioning Western Medicine's extreme solutions of surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. Instead, she went on to heal herself by using ancient protocols of Japanese Macrobiotics, Acupuncture, Herbs, Meditation and Yoga. After one month, she retested with another OBGYN, and her PAP test numbers had come half way down to normal. In order to take time off to truly focus on healing, Jill spent almost six months living and traveling in South America, which was affordable and productive. While in the jungles of Venezuela and in the high altitudes of Peru, she carried brown rice and seaweed in her backpack and one small cooking pot to prepare her simple food. Learning how to strengthen her immune system was her most important goal during this healing journey. When she returned to Miami, her PAP test numbers were normal. Two years later, in 1977, she birthed her son, Aaron. Today, his two little girls like to call her Nanny Ninja. Jill's passionate and intuitive understanding of the human body's complete potential of self-healing, led her to study Juice Fasting Detoxification. Focusing on the health of the digestive organs, the essential terrain plays a huge part in our overall health. Over the next 40 years, she has fasted at least 5-7 days, per year, while living on a mostly plant-based vegetarian diet.
