rof. Dr. P.S. Sreejith, former Dean, Faculty of Engineering, CUSAT Passumed the office of Principal on June 3, 2019. Dr Sreejith took his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Madras, and did his Post Doctoral ON CREATIVE DESK Fellowship from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in the area of Precision Engineering and Nanotechnology. He has formerly served as Principal of College of Engineering, Kuttanad and has held academic and administrative positions in various institutions within India and abroad. He has also been Chairman, Board of Studies in Engineering. He has also served as Dean of the Faculty of Technology and as Member of the CUSAT Syndicate. His research interests are mainly in Intelligent Architectures, Networks, Information Systems Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence. He has more than 120 publications to his credit. He had officiated as Vice Chancellor of CUSAT during January – October, 2014.

GREEN BUILDINGS AND SUSTAINABLE ENGINEERING (GBSE 2019)

The second edition of the International Conference on Green Buildings and Sustainable Engineering (GBSE 2019), organized by RSET in association with IGTE, University of Stuttgart, Germany was held on February 19 & 20, 2019. The theme for this year’s conference was Ecotechnological and Digital Solutions for Smart Cities. Preconference workshops were conducted on Green Mobility for Smart Cities, and Laurie Baker Approach. An expo and an Indo-German summit were also organized as part of GBSE 2019.

The Ninth International Conference on Advances in Computing and Communications (ICACC-2019) was held on November 6 & 7, 2019. The theme for this year’s conference was Technologies for Sustainable Global Development. The conference featured a variety of peer reviewed technical sessions. The keynote sessions were handled by Dr. Blooma John, Assistant Professor of Information Systems, School of Information Technology & Systems, Faculty of Science & Technology, University of Canberra; Mr. Thomas Sebastian, Solution Architect in Big Data, Tata Consultancy Services, and Dr. Nalesh S., Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics & Communication, CUSAT. Dr John’s session focused on Design Science in Information Systems, while Big Data Analytics was the topic of Mr Sebastian’s session; and Accelerated Deep Learning on FPGA was the focus of Dr. Nalesh’s keynote. As always, the conference was successful in bringing together experts and enthusiasts from the academia, research and industry for meaningful deliberations on the theme.
