To consider and adopt the audited financial statements of the Chamber as on 31st March 2016 together with the Auditors’ report and the report of the Managing Committee. 2. Mr. G P Goyal Annual Report 2015-2016 11 Membership At the commencement of the year, there were 509 members on the rolls of the Chamber. There were 17 new admissions, 1 resignation and 63 cessations during the year. Thus, at the close of the year the membership stood at 462. Annual Session The 118th Annual Session of the Chamber was held at Casino Hotel, Willingdon Island on September 22, 2015 at 6.00 p.m. followed by dinner. About 225 delegates attended the programme. The session was inaugurated by Padma Vibhushan Dr.

    KERALA BAMBOO FEST 2012 Post Show Report The Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Kerala in association with Kerala State Bamboo Mission (KSBM) and Kerala Bureau of Industrial Promotion (K-BIP) organized the 9th edition of ‘Kerala Bamboo Fest’ (Kerala Bamboo Fest 2012) at Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium Ground, Kaloor, Kochi from December 6 to 9, 2012. The Fest was inaugurated by Shri. P.K Kunhalikutty, Hon’ble Minister (Industries & IT) in the meeting presided over by Shri. Hibi Eden, Member of Legislative Assembly (Ernakulam) on December 7, 2012. Shri. V.K. Ebrahim Kunju Hon’ble Minister (Works) released the Fest Directory and the same was handed over to Shri. Kameshwar Ojha, Deputy Director General, National Bamboo Mission, New Delhi. Shri. At the event organised by Can Serve Charitable Society, Sai Pallavi, who is also a medical student, said that the cancer patients need a willpower to overcome their condition and the society needs to take on the supportive role in giving them the moral strength to fight the disease. The walkathon aimed at providing help and other support to cancer patients was organised in association with Kochi Corporation and the Navy in which students from various city schools, colleges, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Aster Medcity participated Hibi Eden, MLA, presided over the function while K. V. Thomas, MP, was the chief guest. Sai Pallavi also joined in the Flash Mob held on the occasion by St. Teresa’s College students. The walkathon that began from the Durbar Hall Ground and went towards the Gandhi Square, Maharaja’s College, Law College, St. Teresa’s College and came back to the D.H. ground. Anwar Sadath, MLA, Deputy Mayor B. Bhadra, Jose Chacko Periapuram, Aster Medcity CEO, Dr. Harish Pillai, NSS Karayogam general secretary P. Ramachandran were among the participants. It was an online event, conducted on the Google Meet platform. Students from various colleges across the country, after prior registration, participated and the best- performing teams were chosen as the winners. The students were labelled into 20 teams, each team consisting of 2 members, one speaking for and the other against the topic- “Has social media become the voice of the voiceless”. Each speaker was given 3 minutes each to speak and 1 minute for rebuttal. There was agile, spirited, and focused participation from all the participants. The performance, lucidity, validity, and pertinence of points and speaking skills were assessed and estimated by the judges Ms. Radhika Lee and MS. Usha Venkatachalam.
